Weird that they'd target a Star Wars film at me after everything I've said about the franchise.

Well the official trailer for Infinity War dropped today and tickets are now on sale, so based on that I bet they'll do the same for Solo. 6 weeks until IW, and 10 weeks until Solo...so again, my educated guess is that in 4 weeks on Friday, 4/13, we'll get the Solo trailer and tickets will be on sale.

so I finished watching SW Rebels . I was expecting a bit more really , some more of a connection with ANH .

why did Palpatine present himself as young + healthy ? The GFFA all know at this point that he's been disfigured .

    Primarily to manipulate Ezra.

Ezra was born on the same day as the Empire was so maybe he didn't know Palpatine was scared and deformed.

    I. . .don't see how that's an example of the trend being highlighted?

The United States wasn't asserting global importance in that song. It was an argument for empathy. You should help people suffering because they are ultimately just like you. Literally, the lyrics read "we're saving our own lives."

This is quite far from an actual instance of "Americentrism" and therefore pretty expected that Superwatto would complain about it.

That's also not what's going on with the World Series, that's Ban Johnson's marketing strategy being so good you think it's national arrogance. :p

So clearly "We Are the World" fits the trend.

So back in 1900ish a business upstart named Ban Johnson organized multiple Western League and unaffiliated teams in major US cities to compete against the then near-monopoly on professional baseball held by the National League, which was showing signs of weakness. He decided to call his new league the American League because... I dunno, originality is hard? Due to a combination of funding, intensive advertising, and talent swiping, the AL quickly became a powerhouse, but because so many baseball leagues had sprung up and failed over the years it lacked legitimacy. So Ban Johnson cut a deal with the NL owners and they agreed to a multi-game exhibition match to showcase one team from each league (only after the NL made some more conditions following the first outing and resulted in a year being missed was it agreed that the match would be between the Leagues' two best teams). They decided to call it a championship anyway because nobody wants to pay for a sporting exhibition between two random teams. Then they hit upon the idea of calling it the World Championship because that made it sound important, and faux-importance is the best way to put asses in the seats. Thus was born... the 1903 Baseball World's Championship.

Eventually everybody realized "World Series" sounded a bit better and the name stuck.

Then at some point decades later somebody finally said "Hey, did you know they play baseball in multiple countries due to rampant U.S. imperialism?" and somebody else said "I bet there's money in that!" and thus was born the World Baseball Classic, but the World Series name was entirely too well-known to be discarded, so baseball now has two major championships with terrible naming conventions.

And now you know... the rest of the story. Assuming the one about the World Series being named for a random news periodical is apocryphal.

It seems some of these scenes really did need to be cut, there are some pretty good ones though.

Yes, the song was addressed to people in the USA, arguing they should care about what goes on in other places because we’re all human and compassion is important.

How else would you label that? And what evidence do you have that it was an argument for American superiority?
