Only the experience of seeing it happen time and again. It's safe to say that I'm the one who did the pushing away in our relationship.

It's an achievement in itself: getting PT bashers to come out en masse in support of a PT actor.
    Well trolled, Wocky.

The PT is a molehill compared to Mountain of Greatness that is Brian Blessed.

The PT makes you anime? It's worse than I thought.

I don't watch anime, but this gif was a perfect representation of my relationship with the PT.

You feel it's deriviative, poorly animated and boring after a few moments?

There was a manga version of TPM. I read like half of it. It was unbelievably bizarre.

I really want to know how they figured out who would draw the Manga Star Wars adaptations. Was someone at Lucasfilm just really into obscure Diry Pair & Hokuto no Ken spinoff series and Martian Successor Nadesico? Do we live in the zaniest possible universe where it was Lucas himself? Is the secret reason all of the scripts are so clunky because he got the inspiration for all of his dialogue from hastily cobbled together fan translations of flavor of the month comics from Japanese weeklies?! Does George Lucas have a favorite Dragon Ball character?! The mind boggles at the possibilities.

You know, I'm interested in this "fan backlash" to TLJ. What is it? To me, it seems the issues people have are Luke's death, Rey's parentage, and the Canto Bight stuff.
I don't really have an issue with any of that. The first two are just shattered wish fulfillment, which I'm fine with. The Canto Bight scenes, they're not great, but you kind of have to expect stuff like that in a Star Wars film by now.

But there's one huge issue with the film that nodoby seemed to have picked up on: Ghost Yoda summoning lightning. A deus ex machina if ever I've seen one. From now on, Jedi ghosts will just be able to fry the bad stuff. All that talk about Luke needing to die because otherwise he'd loom over the new generation? Bull****. Because now he can just fry the baddies. From anywhere, at any time. And why didn't Yoda fry Palpatine? He can fry a tree but not a man? Luke wasn't able to stop it, why should Palpatine be able to?
One act, and everything's gone to ****. And for what? To burn some books. That were not there anyway. Which wasn't even clear.
    That's prequel level bad.

Is there an acceptable difference between throwing lightning from your body and summoning it from the sky?

One's an Arcane spell and the other's a Divine spell, and frankly I refuse to believe Yoda multiclassed so sub-optimally.
