What where?

 

The sizzle was there three times (technical cock-up, I believe), and the actual Celebration-only (apparently) trailer. Was pretty cool.

 

I've read the same. Peter Sciretta of slashfilm says that the trailer is a Celebration exclusive.

So I was cruising imgur and found a post that had the headshots from the sizzle reel. Two caught my eye when I looked at them again. First one that caught my eye looks oddly like Timothy Olyphant.


Second looks like Maggie Q.


So I guess we are getting some more cameos by other actors in this like we had in TFA?

 

The first guy looks like Garth Edwards with a darker/fake mustache OR Peter Facinelli.

 

The trailer that from celebration is only about a minute long. Its out there in potato vision for those that want to see (assuming it hasn't been pulled by the time of posting)

So one can only assume that we weren't to get a trailer tonight. We were only to get the three minute sizzle reel.

 

The trailer is great.

As is the new poster.

The trailer opens up with a few shots of what looks to be a young Jyn Erso running as an Imperial ship soars above before cutting to Felicity Jones as voice over plays; “There isn’t much time. Every day, we grow weaker. While the day grows grimmer, we still have a chance … to make a real difference.” The music begins to ramp up as we catch glimpses of handcuffed rebels being walked through the streets and shots from the first trailer and from the Star Wars Celebration reel including Stormtroopers walking through Scarif, the Shoretroopers, a shot of Orson Krennic flanked by Death Troopers walking across a terrain that looks a lot like the grassy area we see the young Jyn running through at the beginning of the piece.
The trailer wraps with the reveal we’ve all been waiting for – kind of. In comes the sound of Darth Vader’s breathing and then we get a shot that slowly pans up to show, not Vader himself, but rather his reflection on the floor. That’s all we get, but it’s chilling and satisfying enough and clearly leaves so much more to be discovered about his involvement in the plot of the film.

Overall, this is another fantastic piece of promotional material. Regardless of rumors circulating regarding the tone, just like the first Rogue One trailer, this one definitely has an intense war movie feel to it. It’s packed with Stormtroopers, explosions and other visuals that tease a very visceral intensity, sky high stakes, and a scenario where no one feels safe.​

 

I thought it was announced a while back that a full trailer was going to be released today.

 

The first Rogue One official trailer will premiere on October 17, 2016 during halftime on Monday Night Football (Jets at Cardinals). Tickets will be on sale following the trailer. (Hopefully theaters don't **** up like they did with TFA and sell early.)

The CE exclusive trailer was good Indeed, but short. Perhaps part of a longer piece to come.

 

I'm excited for the rogue trailer...





...that's currently parked outside my front lawn. It probably has all sorts of SW merchandise inside!

I looked at this poster while I scrolled down so I literally experienced it from the top down.

This was my reaction

25%: Cool

50%: Nice

75%: hmmm...?

100%: laughter

And, I cannot explain why.

The first half looks great but there's just something jarring about the lower 25% of the poster.

I don't know what it is but it doesn't work for me.

 

DebonaireNerd, you've survived 0 days without seeing the Rogue One poster. Please add that to your signature. It would make more sense to you if you watched the trailer/sizzle reel.

BTW, if you watched the ABC SW special tonight, two things to note: (1) the special is on the bonus features of the TFA disc titled the "Secrets of The Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey (documentary)" and (2) the Rogue One sneak peek was the sizzle reel from SW Celebration Europe today.

 

The trailer itself did have some recycled clips from the teaser, but it does enough to make viewers want to see more.
Plus, you know, Vader.

 

TWT, the bottom quarter looks like a bad Battlefront map / screenshot.

 

Yeah.

Either that or a pamphlet for a Star Wars themed resort in Bali.

 

Mauritius, I believe, is where they filmed it...
