Tunick, IATI, please stop trying so hard to be amusing. Just be yourselves, ok?

In your case Tunick that will mean enduring endless commentary about your poor life choices but how else will we try to brow beat you out of an early grave?

If Kennedy stepped in to protect Kasdan's script and vision, then quite frankly, good on her. Out of the four major roles involved in making a film, the actor, the director, the producer, and the writer, the writer has to be one of the most shafted and marginalized.

Can also be one of the worst for production if they cause a fuss & don't have flexibility to the input of others.
A director should have freedom to alter a screenplay if they wish, it is their movie after all & they are entrusted with doing it the way they feel is best.

Arndt spent ages on a screenplay for TFA, and Abrams didn't like it so he chuckled it out & decided he & Kasdan would do it instead. That is his right as director.

I'm not saying Kasdan is in the wrong here, but it sounds he has way more influence over the production than perhaps he should. KK obviously knows him well & thinks he knows best, but they both go back a long way.

Yeah! People were predicting the reshoots could portend tonal shifts that left unclear motivations and superficiality in the lead protagonists and strangely wasted supporting roles that turned out to be little more than cameos.

    So inaccurate. . .

I feel most people enjoyed the hell out of Rogue One, though, Wocky.

I wouldn't dispute that. But it doesn't mean the concerns about the reshoots were wrong.

w, you at least have to have consistency across two posts in a row, or your schtick is going to bleed out very quickly.

I thought it was enjoyable and it not being an ANH copy was good, but there were obvious issues that diminished the quality of the film.

    Who is "w?"

If you mean me, it's entirely consistent. A lot of people said the enjoyed it. A lot of people also said that in spite of the enjoyment, they recognized the lead was weak and had very muddled motivations. The two points are in no way mutually exclusive.

Republicans pretty widely concede that Donald Trump is a intemperate, ill-prepared leader with huge personality flaws. They also keep saying they support him. Something being bad is not the metric for deciding to like or dislike it,

I thought Rogue One had some beautiful cinematography and a couple of strong individual moments, but was fairly mediocre as a whole. Also, what sort of idiot puts Donnie Yen and Darth Vader in the same movie and doesn't let them fight each other?

You can't kill off Darth Vader in a prequel, that's just common sense.

I would have enjoyed that character much more if they had given him a broader personality. Instead he was a walking tag line that did karate. Though i have to acknowledge their ingenuity; there aren't a lot of the options for making an action figure that nonetheless recites 90% of character's onscreen dialogue.
