I was wondering how Zonama Sekot can enter hyperspace.

Since ZS is a planet, it should be massive enough to create a gravity well, which will prevent it from entering entering hyperspace. It could also be pulled out by other gravity wells as seen in TUF.

A possibility would be that ZS has a device similar to that which Nen Yim used in TFP to counteract the Interdictor.

    Thoughts?

Its own gravity well won't stop it from entering hyperspace.

Anything with mass has gravity of some sort, :).

Hyperdrive safties are supposed to kick in and bring an object traveling through hyperspace out of hyperspace when acted upon by an outside gravity well. As Valiento pointed out, anything can produce a gravity shadow which, if large enough, should trip the safties. Certainly a ship's own gravity well should be large enough to do so. Yet the safties are set up to detect outside gravity wells, meaning gravity wells not produced by the ship itself. When traveling through hyperspace, Zonoma Sekot is just like the Death Star was, large enough to trip hyperdrive safties on other objects traveling through hyperspace but not able to trip their own safties.

    Why not?

Because it traveled through hyperspace to Klasse Ephemora, and then on to Coruscant. Obviously, its gravity well didn't stop it.

I just don't think of such attributes. After all, an entire planet hyperjumps through interstellar space. Aside from time travel and teleportation, SW has done it all.

they haven't done a cyberspace type adventure yet, like Tron or the Matrix...

they also really haven't done super-omipotent being thing like Q, either.

parallel dimensions or mirror universes really haven't happened either....

Val, didn't you say that people could go through gravity wells? Jedi?

Yep, Han makes refrence to it briefly when he says, you have to be careful not to fly through a star.

However, Jedi have the potential to be able to navigate the tidal stresses of a mass shadow in such a way that they can pass directly through a gravity well without being pulled back into realspace(into the center of the planet).

Since the planet doesn't actually exist in the same parrallel universe that hyperspace makes up (only the mass shadow exists in hyperspace) the Jedi isn't exactly going through the planet, but rather by it(parrallel). However if he gets pulled from hyperspace inside the planet, which is generally the case for anyone foolish enough to try to fly through a planet's Mass Shadow, they will essentially be destroyed when the remerge inside of the physical material that the planet is made of.

In anycase it was Saesee Tiin that uses this ability in Acts of War, to get away from some forces that are chasing the ship that he is on, to the surprise of many around him.

    >>Aside from time travel<<

Actually, it seems one of the old Ewok and Droid comics had a crossover involving Time Travel- hich is why a certain protocol droid happened to remind the Ewoks of a god from their past [face_batting]

Also, there was an HNN article where some guy had a hyperspace accident and didn't exit hyperspace until it was a long time later- essentially timetraveling to the future.

    >>parallel dimensions or mirror universes really haven't happened either.<<

Hyperspace, Waru's universe and I believe there was some alternate dimensions in the WEG RPG and Ewoks cartoons.

Yeah, there's Otherspace and some wakko demension of evil flying thingies from the Ewoks cartoon. I believe one of Teh Genghis' choicest threads was on it. ;)

Oh look, Bib is turning into a purist, and moving away from being a completist... He seems to be creating a personal continuity for himself...
