All right folks.
I've told this to many of you over the past few years, and now I'm coming all out with it.
I want us to hold a mini-con during TT 21 aimed only at Star Wars Afficionados.
What does that mean?
Well Simply that as many panels as I can suggest and moderate, I can only be at one place at one time.
(for instance I just took an hour to fix a laptop before finishing this message)
What I'm saying is that if we put our efforts together, I'm sure we can come up with something that will impress a lot of people.
And not only are we doing this for us, but for the entire North-Eastern fan community because we're so often left behind with conventions and such, it's time to take back our fandom into our own hands and show everyone out there what we're made of.

I am with you and I like this idea. We will show that our fandom is alive and kicking.
Last years prop/costume panel was a success and we can build on that.
With the 30th anniversary I want to go all out. With enough early planning we can get the work out.

Very Nice idea. I'll be having a table there to sell my sabers and such. There'll be a special deal for those who dress up as a star wars character. You'll have to be there to find out what the deal is.

What ideas do people want for panels?
I can help with prop making panels.
We can be more specific with costume panels
I can also do a droid building panel.
I know a couple of people that can do a collecting panel.
I don't think a parade is possible but there can be a specific place and time everyone in costume can meet for one big photo.
We can get the video room to play Star Wars or one of the other movies as an event. How can it be different? Turn the volume off and have the audience say all the words.
Party for sure. Make it a requirement to wear something Star Wars related to get in. A cake to celebrate the anniversary.
Any other ideas?

Great idea Seb. I was approached by someone who was programming head last year (we're not sure who's who this year) and asked if I could end up organizing something exactly like your talking about. A mini con'ish bit for TT21 for Star Wars.
Once it's confirmed that I'm running the track, I'd love you to work with me on this Seb. I trust that I wouldn't be able to do it justice as you may, since I'm the advertising head this year.

Im not sure if Ill be a panelist this year, burning out on that.
Also not sure if Ill be at Toronto Trek this year due to a wedding, (not mine, my neice's)
once I get the invite on it Ill know if it interferes with the con.

All right, round up of what I had in mind so far:
1 room dedicated as a museum of Star Wars Memorabilia and Collectibles.
1 room dedicated to panels.
1 video room for fanfilms and documentary
Panels:
Friday: 6 panels starting at 19:00 hours
Saturday: 11 panels starting at 9:00 hours and ending at 20:00 hours for the Masquerade and a special "Star Wars inspired party"
Sunday: 9 panels starting at 10:00 hours (expecting long party hours on saturday)
30 years of Star Wars
a look back at the influence Star Wars had on the movie industry
What you didn't knew about Star Wars
A look at the easter eggs of course, but so much more (tales of the director etc)
Star Wars en Direct..From TT 21
A live broadcast of the Canadian based live radio webcast.

I am going to look into a special display area where we can put the AT-ST as well as the museum stuff. The ideal loation would be lockable at night so we can leave everything set up. Howewer we may be limited to where we can set up due to the size of the AT-ST.
If we want panels we will have to start a list of topics that can be submitted.
I am not sure about a dedicated Star Wars video room. I was thinking of requesting Star Wars ANH be shown at some point in the normal video room.
I was also thinking mouse droid races, Star Wars origami, Star Wars model display. Someone else mentioned a Star Wars Lego challenge.

Of course we should also arrange for SW costuming and props panels. Maybe a toy collecting panel too if we can find someone to run it.

Do say hi to David to while you're at it, I haven't had a chance to write to him since Fan Expo.
I figured the con might be able to offer us the rooms at the odd end of the convention (behind the autograph area, you know Montreal, Ottawa, etc...)
These rooms could be locked at night and it would allow us a fair space (while still small).
Tessa if you don't mind do mention that so far we're still in the planning stages and we plan on presenting the TT concom and programming with a proper proposition with schedule and all.
I'd like to prepare something for the end of december so any help is welcome folks.
I'll come up with some sort of excel table for a schedule and I'll make it available here.
