*sniffles* O joyous day!!!

I have heard rumours for several years pertaining to different variations of the same story where the project is on again and off again. The story has been kicking around for a number of years. But the question has come up time and time again, how could they possibly pull this off when the actors are getting older. CGI!!! While I of course have my reservations and question whether this will actually happen it certainly fills the void left by one disapointment after another (failure of the comics, the toyline and the video game).

However, should this come to light there will sooooo be an event for it. wink

Hmm I wonder if they are looking for production assistants...to get on that film I would work for free.

I have my reservations about CGI but I will not judge it until I see it.

Of course it is all dependant on how good the script is.

From what I have read its a little far fetched and possibly silly. But to be fair all the Ghostbusters films, animated series, and comic books deal with far fetched stories. Its always been the visual eye candy that draws you in and the loveable embracable characters that keep you there.

I too have my reservations. Its been suggested that a new ongoing live action TV series might be better suited to the franchise, where they would recast the thing and jumpstart the whole thing. It seems to have worked recently for a handful of other Franchises.

And the CGI worries me a little. Its something that quite immediately could fail. But its always been a very vissual franchise and this would allow them to do more then has ever been possible.

I am happy to see that the three majors Ramis, Aykroyd and Murray are back. Still waiting to hear about Annie Potts, Sigourney Weaver, Rick Moranis and Ernie Hudson. The only one I can see being a problem would be weaver...the others don't seem to be doing a whole lot these days.

CGI or animation means they can do anything. Special effects and stunt will not mean as much. Explosions, building ripped apart, bad guy will not be as impressive or menacing.
