well shoot now they went and made me an Arch-Bishop!!! and if your wondering what that is, well its a Bishop that presides over a group of Bishops. as a Bishop has a Dioceise, an Arch-Bishop has an Arch-Dioceise, which is to put into us normal folk terms, an Arch-Bishop is in charge of many Bishops.

OK, I have to ask how this relates to the actual structure of the Jedi in the SW movies or has the religion of Jedi moved beyond the movies/EU, etc.
I never heard of Bishops, Arch-Bishops, etc. in the SW Universe.

well not really sure at the moment we are currently figuring out which is who is what lol but i will know soon.

indeed there were no titles of these types in the starwars movies, however this is a real religion now and as such most religions have a structure of authority of some type so as to have some conformity in matters of doctrine, proceedures etc. as stated earlier in this thread there are possibly millions of Jedi worldwide. the first physical temple is being built in Michigan, The Rivers Temple of the Jedi Order, in fact the last update was that it was 89% completed. when it is finished there will be a press conference and dedication ceremony, coverage by local news for sure, possibly national or even international coverage as well.

I ask because looking in from the outside that would be my first question. In my thinking it would be better to stick to the SW Universe designations of Council Master, Master, Knight, Padawan, etc. But hey, that's me.

To me it seems very similair to buddhism with a twist of science....

I see it as such... eastern beliefs (Buddhism) with a scientific theories base.
Do I understand this right.... you can keep you core beliefs and the "Jedi" part rides on top of other religions as an extended idea?
Kind of like (geek moment here) THX will ride on top of DTS, DPL, Stereo, Mono, or DD and enhance what is already their?

yes indeed that is a good comparison. also we must not forget that Martial Arts plays a big role in Jediism as well. the body and mind and soul are all one connected by the Force. to obtain harmony between the 3 is to raise our consciousness to the frequency of the Living Force. much understanding and clairity can be found by doing this sucessfully.
I was asked to be the Arch-Bishop of the Pure Land Jedi Rite due to not haveing any other core beliefs. thats what Pure Land Jedi means, just Pure Jedi Beliefs, no others. however there are 3 other "Rites" and an Arch-Bishop for each one. i have the ability now to not only Ordain Ministers, but Bishops as well.
just as many religions have different "sects", for example Christianity has many different branches in thier tree. there are Catholics, and Baptists, and Methodists, and Prodistants, etc., and all are Christian. just as in this example, the Temple of the Jedi Order now is branching and all branches are still Jedi. the Arch-Bishop of the Christian Rite lives over in the Mountains near the Mesa area, and she rasies wolves for domestication/pets. one of the Arch-Bishops even lives in Germany.
