Reid Park Zoo Howl-o-ween 10/24, 25, 26/2008!

Here it is one of our biggest events of the year, and a great opportunity for the TFF to advertise themselves to over 9000 people with the 501st Legion, and Rebel Legion!
This is a three night event, but only for a couple of hours at a time. Last year we had approximatly 9,000 visitors and kids and we were again voted most popular!! But those Harry Potter kids keep getting bigger areas, so lets keep our title!!
Dates: October 24th, 25th, 26th (a Friday-Sunday)
Time: 6pm-8pm(24th-25th) 5pm-7pm (26th)
Location: Reid Park Zoo 1100 S. Randolph way
Location within the zoo: Same as last year, by the Pola Bear Enclosure, this is great becuase it is close to the back gate, parking, and our changing location is pending since they condemned the trailer last year, probably the underground bear cave by our area.
Backdrop: Acording to Jed, we will most likely have the same spot, so we should discuss building backdrops!
Areas of concern:
Weapons! Anything that looks remotley real cannot be held or displayed, and of course pointed. She said props and weapons that are obviosly fantasy based like lightsabers are fine, but nothing that looks like a gun, or blaster, and Jango's blasters. Any weapons that are questionable must be preapproved. This year I am going to try and get a little leeway with this.
We definetly need wranglers in costumes that would allow them to hand out candy or the unifying theme of Legion or SW T-shirts.

It's a good time. When we get closer Ill post where to go, how to get in after closing, and what we need done if you plan on being there to help at the event. The Zoo, and the 501st has rules and policies which must be abided by to ensure we can return the following year, and maintain the good reputations the 501st and fan force have.

Who is coordinating you appearance, Chris or Mike?
Basically I need to know who is coming which days and if you plan to set up a display advertising yourselves. This event has over 9000 people over the three day period, so its an excellent opportunity to get new members. I know Chris has some materials for this, but you might want to consider making some more so people know the difference between your club, and us.
We got the confirmation we have the same spot. AND IF YOU COME IN COSTUME THIS IS A NO BLASTERS EVENT. Even though the Fan Force is not a costuming club, this is a Halloween event, so costumes are expected, with the exception of a couple of non-costumed to hand out candy, and "wrangle." these non-costumed should be able to be differentiated from everyones else with a Fan Force t-shirt etc. The 501st maintaines a high standard in accuracy and quality so please try to make them the best you can.
If you have a meeting before the event Ill try and make it to field questions

Are there any other sizes printed up for purchase? I think 2XL will be laughably huge on me. If there aren't any others maybe I could order one in my size from cafepress or something.

We did a run 2 years ago of 50 shirts. Only about half were sold and the others were purchased bu Jack. Later they were sold to Phil and distributed. You would have to ask him if there is anything left. I liquidated my stock a few months back but everything was xl and 2xl.

it seems to get busier on Saturday, though that is just my take on it, if your just coming to see everything I would pick a night when it is not as busy..
