	Welcome to the Official Tuscon FanForce fanfiction thread! This is a place for fans in Tucson to share fanfiction with each other. There are fanfiction forums here on the boards that have been established well before this thread. However this is exclusively for the TFF. Towards the end of each month we can hold a poll to see who wrote the best story here in the TFF. All stories written in this thread are short stories and each month a topic from Star Wars is selected for you to write about. I have chosen the first topic for the month of September however if someone wishes to chose the next topic they just have to PM me. When it comes to others chosing topics it will be on a first come first serve basis. Should someone PM too late then their topic will be the next in line so to speak. As for the poll if you write more than one story it will be up to you which story is entered to vote on. As for the actual writing that goes on remember that we are dealing in short stories and that ROTS is rated PG-13 so keep that in mind when you write. Without further ado I give you the first entry. BTW: the topic for the month of September is anything related to the Prequel Trilogy era. Bring It Down Author: GrandAdmiral_Frank Timeframe: The Clone Wars Characters: Blast Genre: Sci-fi/Fantasy/War Summary: Clone Heavy Gunner Sergant "Blast" takes a squad of Republic troops into the capital city of Praesitlyn on a mission behind enemy lines. Smoke rose in thick rolling black clouds over the skies of Praesitlyn. A Republic LAAT/i(Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry) sped at a few feet off the ground towards the Seperatist controlled capital city. Clone Heavy Gunner Sergant CT-806/1945 or "Blast" stood calmly at attention. His squad of four clone heavy gunners, four clone troopers from infantry, and one clone medic were checking their equipment. The bay doors on the sides of the gunship opened up and the LAAT/i or "larty" as clones called it slowed to a hovering stop. Blast was the first to jump down to the ground and then his troops followed him. Immediately they had begun to fan out from the larty finding spots to take cover. Blast watched the larty rise higher and higher and then a torpedo slammed into it from the side creating an explosion. The remaining structure was surrounded in flames as it crashed into a nearby building sending debris and rubble in all directions. Blast had just lost four brothers. It was never easy to lose a brother yet the clones had been trained to endure. Blast made a hand gesture signaling to his squad to move out from their current position. The streets of the capital city were quiet save for the distant rumbles of battle. Buildings were covered in cracks and scorch marks proving that war was a reality on Praesitlyn. The CIS had sent its Droid Army to Praesitlyn to seize control of the ICC(Intergalactic Communications Center) and so far the Droid Army was successful. If the CIS continued to hold Praesitlyn it would mean communications within Coruscant and the Core Worlds would be severely compromised. Ever since the Grand Army had landed on Praesitlyn they had been outnumbered by the Droid Army so taking the planet back was a task for certain. The CIS had the advantage strategically on the battlefield and as a result the front lines of the Grand Army were being bombarded constantly with little or no progression for the Republic. Blast and his squad had been sent behind enemy lines to sabotage the Droid Army's HMPs(Heavy Missle Platforms) so the front line could progress. It was a suicide mission yet Blast and his squad saw it as another part of their duty. Blast had opted for the gunship to remain under his command so that they could make runs on the HMPs however Jedi General Anakin Skywalker had declined. His reasons were that the Republic needed the lartys for extraction of the wounded and also for air support. None of that mattered now as the wreckage of the larty was well behind them. One of his clone troopers was in charge of the reconaissance on this mission and at this moment he was motioning to a building. Blast nodded and so the squad moved into the building. Stealth was important on this mission and especially now since this building could be loaded on each floor with battle droids. The lights on the DC-15 blaster rifles for the clonetroopers lit the way as they hurried up the stairways. Blast had gone up over twenty levels when the clonetrooper on recon took them through a hallway that led to a room with three quarters of its walls gone. Debris littered the floor and the clones had to be careful to make sure that their boots did not make too loud of a crunch. In the midst of all of this tip-toeing they spotted their first target, a Sep HMP. It hovered in the air, a brand new addition to the Seperatist Forces. It resembled a crossover of a flying saucer and an insect. Blast remembered back to his training when he had first learned to incapacitate a flying object. One phrase stood out and that was "Bring It Down" and that is what he would do now. He loaded his rocket launcher and took aim with an infrared scope. Slowly and steadily the HMP was in the crosshairs and then he squeezed the trigger sending a spiraling rocket towards the machine. Seconds later it impacted and the HMP was brought down to the rooftops of a complex. Their first target eliminated Blast and his squadron quickly and quietly vacated the building from which the attack oriented and Blast gave his recon troop the go ahead as they reached the floor level. Inside this area cable cords hung from the ceiling and datapads with cracked screens were strung about. Some tables had been knocked over and in one spot a blood smear as wide as a poncho from Mos Espa remained to testify the violence wrought in this room. Blast checked the chrono watch on his helmets HUD(Heads-Up Display), almost ten minutes for the recon boy left. A second after the ten minute mark had passed Blast was making hand signals for his squad to move out when the recon troop returned. He was running and making a cutting gesure by his throat, immediately the squad stopped and reverted to cover spots. Clones could communicate with each other through private frequencies in their helmets. This meant that they could talk to each other and not a sound would process through their vocalizers in the helmets to the outside world. Blast had just been told that an AAT(Armored Assault Transport) was on its way to their position, most likely to inspect their handy work on the HMP. Blast tapped his nearest gunner and the shoulder and the clone took out his launcher making his way towards an area to post up at. Before long the AAT had rolled into into their line of sight with its engines rumbling and roaring. Its top hatch opened up to reveal a yellow striped battle droid commander. The commander pulled out a pair of macrobinoculars and began to survey the area. As this happened the gunner shot off a rocket that plowed right into the tank sending it crashing almost on its side into a building which knocked down most of its foundations which brought down many other levels. Dust rolled out everywhere and it reminded Blast of Geonosis when the Trade Federation Droid Control Ship had been brought down. Once the dust settled Blast had the team move out. The next target was hovering well above a street heading slowly to a position. Blast had his squad move to the sides of the streets seeking shelter in alleyways and doorways. He crawled down into a crater that housed half of a flash speeder and loaded his rocket launcher. The HMP was above his position now and slowly with calm to his breathing he lifted the launcher and shot it bulls-eye in the middle. The droid machine exploded and then it wobbled and crashed into a skyscraper two or three blocks away. On to the next target. Blast and his squad went through another building complex this time that lead out to a courtyard in between that building and another. An HMP was visible on Blasts right side but it was further out which meant they would have to get closer. Time was of the essence here however his men would probably need a fast drink so he ordered them to hydrate. One of the clone troopers sat down on a pile of rubble and leaned against a wall drinking from a canteen. Blast heard cracking and his head snapped in the direction of the wall as it completely collapsed taking the clone with it. Immediately Blast had drawn his DC-15 blaster carbine and pointing it at the cloud of dust. What the clones saw then was a group of ten SBDs(Super Battle Droids) and that was a challenge for a clone no doubt. There was no thought or contemplation just both sides erupting into an exchange of red and blue laserfire that illuminated the area magnificantly. Two of his clones had been standing right in front of an SBD once the wall was brought down so they had cut them in critical cords at close range wth vibroblades. Their victory was shortlived as two other SBDs had shot them down. One of the gunners was in safe range to fire off a rocket which eliminated five of the SBDs leaving three more. Half of Blasts squad had been cut down by the time that last explosion had occured so it was four on three. The medic through his medkit like a boomerang at an SBD drawing his blaster and shooting the droid repeatedly in the chest. As the SBD went down it was able to get off a shot right under the medics helmet. Another SBD had shot down his last gunner leaving him and another clone trooper. Blast had just taken down the SBD in front of him with a kick and repeated blasterfire. The last clone trooper was cut down but had managed to cripple the SBD somewhat. Blast moved in and then it happened, the SBD had composed itself enough that it could get off a shot with its rocket wrist launcher that hit Blast at the feet. The rocket had come at him and there was nothing he could do about it; he did finish the job on the SBD. The explosion was unreal and Blast was lifted from his feet. He landed in excruciating pain and the last thing he saw as he lay on his side was the HMP in the distance. Their mission was to eliminate them but considering it had been a suicide mission from the start Blast had been proud of himself and his men. 	That's What I'm Afraid Of Author: GrandAdmiral_Frank Timeframe: The ending of Revenge of the Sith Characters: Owen Lars, Beru Lars, Cliegg Lars, Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi Genre: Sci-fi/Fantasy/Flashback Keywords: This story touches on why Owen is afraid that Luke will be like his father. Obi-Wan Kenobi rode his Eopie towards the Lars homestead as the twins of Tatooine set. Owen Lars wished that he would continue on his way but he knew that the Jedi was stopping here. Shmi Skywalker, his late step-mother, had a son named Anakin who had recently been killed and now his son Luke was coming to Tatooine to live with them. He did not want the boy. The worst part about that fact was that the boy had done nothing, he was merely an infant. To Owen however, it was what ran in the boy's blood that made him weary of having the son of Anakin Skywalker here on his farm. He and Beru had tried for children before and so far nothing had happened. This was a blessing in that sense and that meant one less thing to worry about. Owen tried to do as much as he could to make Beru happy but he was in essence a moisture farmer so it wasn't like he could offer her the galaxy. She wanted a child to occupy her life as a moisture farmers wife and this would do. Besides he did care for Shmi so it wasn't as if the Skywalker bloodline was entirely cursed. Shmi Skywalker. He remembered how much she had changed Cliegg's life. As Owen was in his early days of manhood he practically ran the farm and he could tell his father Cliegg Lars was somewhat lonely despite running the farm with Owen. When Shmi and Owen first met she had been a slave to the Toydarian junkyard dealer Watto. Owen had helped Cliegg free her and before long the two married and his father was happier than he had seen him in a while. Shmi was a beautiful and kind woman and Owen got along well with her. By the time Owen had convinced his own love interest Beru to live with him on the Lars homestead Shmi would be kidnapped shortly after by Tusken Raiders. The Sand People. They had been showing up on the perimeters of the farm quite frequently at that time and one morning Shmi was kidnapped. Longing to see her back in his arms Cliegg took Owen and a party of twenty-eight other settlers to find her. The Sand People were ruthless and brutal and they proved it when they had set a trap for the search party. Only Owen, Cliegg, and two other settlers returned from the violent attack. After that they had reluctantly and tearfully accepted that Shmi was gone. Then out of no where her son, whom she always spoke of, returned to find her. Owen always had thought it an unfortunately play of destiny that he should finally be reunited with his mother in her last moments. The boy had come questioning them about Shmi and he could tell that there was loathing in the boys eyes for them. The night Anakin left to find his mother Owen had approached Cliegg about it. "Dad, he hates us, you have to know that at least", said Owen to his father in the kitchen. "On what grounds to have to base that claim son? Would you be cheery and all smiles in his spot?", asked Cliegg looking up at Owen from his hover chair. "He looks at us with contempt. As if it were our fault that Shmi is missing. We went after her and we almost damn-near died doing it", said Owen pointing at the direction they had gone. "The boy has been gone for a while. He has come for his mother only to find she is most likely dead. I would like to believe that even a Jedi could make everything better but I have a feeling he will only make it worse on himself. That's his choice. I hope that just maybe she might not be dead and if anyone can find her it will be him but you should not be assuming his feelings son", said Cliegg. "Well maybe if he had come home for her sooner instead of crusading about the galaxy like a damn fool he could have freed her sooner", said Owen realizing he had just said something he shouldn't have said. "If he freed her sooner we might not have been married. Things turned out like they did because that was how they were supposed to turn out son. If he can save her that is all well but don't you put it on him that he should have done something about it. I don't know too much about Jedi but if what they say is true then he has a harder life to lead than any of us here so you best think about that", said Cliegg and with that he left the room. The next morning Anakin returned with her dead body and Owen felt horrible about it all. The funeral was tough for everyone, even more so for Anakin. Owen still received those looks from Anakin that suggested he did not do enough. The boy left and had not returned. Owen had decided then that he did not really care for Anakin and that as far as Skywalkers went only Shmi had mattered. Now his son was here and Beru was opened arms about it. Owen had his right to be suspicious. He had never told Beru this but one day he had taken a small search party of other moisture farmers to look for other water wells in the planet. A massive dust storm had occured and they had not made it home so they had to wait it out. What had happened was that in the beginnings of the storm they had still been traveling to try and beat it out. The result of this left them lost in the barren desert of Tatooine. Their trek to make it back home led them to an abandoned Tusken Camp and this had not been long after Shmi had been killed. What Owen saw then horrified him. There were bodies of Tuskens everywhere and they were all mutilated; and not just the men, but the women, and the children too. He was no fool, Anakin had done this. Seeing the aftermath of such carnage made him happy that Anakin was gone and would most likely never be back since his mom was dead. Seeing what a Jedi was capable of made him even more weary of this Obi-Wan Kenobi who had said he was Anakin's mentor. If that was the case then this Jedi had taught Anakin the skills needed to do what he did at the Tusken Camp. Beru held the newborn Skywalker infant and had nothing but love and joy in her eyes. Owen knew he and Beru could raise the boy together and he would not have to be what his father was. They would have to explain to Luke about his father some day but Owen would make sure he knew an altered version of that tale. Obi-Wan said he would stay on the planet and watch over him as well. Really? Then why not him take Luke? Of course before Owen could ask that Kenobi had already explained that the boy could have a normal life and that he could focus on watching the boy from a distance and should he need to intervene he would. Now he and Beru watched the sunset with their new son. Owen had to confess that he always wanted to have a son to pass on the Lars legacy. Now with Luke they could raise him and since he was supposed to have a normal life Owen could pass on that legacy. It wasn't as bad as Owen was thinking but he could not help his suspicions after the impression Anakin had left on him. After Beru took Luke in Owen shut off the power and made sure he had the landspeeder ready to go to Anchorhead in the morning. 	Very well cathiecat. Then how about this? One thing I am sure of is that there won't be a whole lot of activity going on in this thread so holding a poll every other month is fine. I would like to post a story whenever and I think having that mindset made a month seem more plausible. 	Good work Grand Admiral Frank! I enjoyed the second story the best, too. It was more character-driven than the first. I'd like to try giving a story a write, but we'll see...writing tends to be a long and arduous task for me.

	This story is not eligible for anything because it's an entry for the PT rewrite contest. I just wanted to post it because I love it. The Other Attempt On My Life Author: GrandAdmiral_Frank Timeframe: ROTS Characters: Palpatine, Thire, OC character Genre: Sci-fi/fantasy Summary: A Jedi attempts to assassainate Palpatine on Coruscant after Order 66 Palpatine felt him through the Force. There was no time. He was in danger. Without a moments hesistation he was on his way to him. Palpatine could not lose him now. Everything in his overloaded schedule had been put on hold. Nothing mattered right now to Palpatine because he needed to get to Mustafar. Too much had been put at stake. If someone had been powerful enough to defeat The Choosen One then he would be in even more danger than in he thought. He had deviated his grand scheme for far too long to have it all collapse on him at this moment. Even now after emerging triumphant in a duel with the Jedi Order's most powerful Jedi Master he felt a slight sense of worry. Yoda had been his only true match so far and even though he did not know if the Master was dead or alive he could deal with it later. He had made sure all of the other Jedi had been dealt with accordingly but The Choosen One was in danger and his persistence and perseverance and power would be directed to saving The Choosen One. He had tasked his shock trooper commander CC-4477, or Thire, with the task of prepping his Theta-class T2c shuttle. As he made his way through the halls of the Great Rotunda to a nearby landing platform where the shuttle would pick him up and travel to Mustafar he could feel the darkside of the Force flowing through him. Its raw yet harnessed power slithered up his body and tangled around his body to create a pure evil cloak, however he felt he was not being hidden. If anything he had finally been exposed and so had the true divine power of the galaxy. It was the full power of the darkside. The shuttle would be there any moment now. Palpatine viewed the landscape of the planetwide city of Coruscant. It was vast and ultimately infinite upon the planet. Soon his Galactic Empire would be the same way across the galaxy. He saw the smoke that still rose from the Jedi Temple though it was less dense than before, fading surely enough as the Jedi were. Instantly he felt it, a tremor in the Force. Someone else was here. Was it Yoda? Palpatine turned to see that a Jedi had seemingly come out of the sky taking four shock troopers by surprise. Two of the red garbed Royal Guards who had followed him as additional escort service were already in fighting stance twirling their force pikes. The shock troopers had been cut to pieces effeciently with some of those pieces falling off of the platform walkway. The bodies were now out his line of sight and Palpatine could see a male human Jedi with long red hair and a goatee. He wore the traditional brown tunic and robe of a Jedi and his lightsaber hummed orange pulsing with hope. His feeble skills would be no match against the power of the dark side. However Palpatine would let his guards handle this fool. The two Royal Guards attacked at the same time from the sides like skilled predators. The Jedi backflipped before they could attack him and they stopped just short of each other. Twirling the orange blade the Jedi was able to amputate the leg of a Royal Guard who had charged at him but had one foot down on the steps that led up to the platform. From there it was over as the Jedi brought the blade around for the kill. The kill was no easy victory and had required a dangerous amount of time given for the other Royal Guard was already in striking distance and moving in. The Jedi barely caught what looked like a fierce blow from the Royal Guard. From there it became an exchange of upward and downward attacks that kept the two locked into battle. Far off in the distance the drive of the shuttles engine became louder and louder. It would not be long. While Palpatine still felt a strong desire to get to Mustafar he watched the ensuing battle with delight at how well his Red Guard had been trained. What Order is this? This is what protected the Republic? This is what held the peace for a thousand years? Darth Bane could have accelerated the rise of the Sith earlier had he seen this display. Then to Palpatine's surprise the Jedi faked an attack then spun and thrust the lightsaber with force in a backwards stab killing the Royal Guard. The shuttle was in his sight and gaining fast on the platform, it was without a doubt that Commander Thire had seen the display on the landing platform. "You're going to pay for all the Jedi that you slaughtered! I am Kal Xenthor. I am a Jedi. I serve the Republic. I am a guardian of peace and justice. You have lost your highness!", said Kal Xenthor introducing himself as he walked up the stairs to where Palpatine was holding his orange blade up. "Young fool. You do not know the power of the dark side! You have not accomplished anything except to prove to the citizens of the Galactic Empire that the Jedi have plotted to take over", said Palpatine. The shuttle would land in seconds. "The citizens of the Republic have been betrayed", countered Kal Xenthor. "I'm afraid that you are wrong. The citizens of the Galactic Empire have united. They have united against YOU!", growled Palpatine and with that he began to cackle out a laugh as the shuttle landing ramp lowered to reveal Commander Thire and more shock troopers opening fire with their DC-15A blaster rifles. The shots rained down on Kal Xenthor and Palpatine watched it all. Watched the beauty of the red brilliant flashes pour down on the red haired Jedi. There were too many and before long the Jedi's body was lifted off the ground from all the impacts. As the body fell back the shots ceased and it was as if the body fell slowly. Palpatine turned on the downed Jedi to walk up the landing ramp thinking nothing more of the pathetic Jedi. He needed to save him now. The life in Kal Xenthor had not faded out yet. Palpatine knew this much as he continued his ascent into the shuttle. He looked at Commander Thire who had certainly noticed the body slowly move. The commander knew what to do. By the time Thire ran down the ramp to where Kal Xenthor was Palpatine was already at the top of the ramp and he turned one last time to see another Jedi's last time in the galaxy. Thire was not gentle as he grabbed a handful of red hair pulling Kal Xenthor up. As quickly as he had pulled the Jedi into a standing position he had drawn a DC-15S blaster and put a round into the Jedi's head and watched for a couple of seconds as the body plummeted to the lower levels of Coruscant. His duty done the clone commander ran up the ramp and the shuttle lifted up and to the stars. Mustafar was the next stop. Palpatine sat and noticed out of his viewport that some of the speeder traffic lanes had been haulted not too far from where some Jedi had tried to assassainate him. Before long the HoloNet would be depicting the story about how the new Emperor of the Galactic Empire had already been targeted for assassaination for his bold union of the galaxy, for his safe and secure society. 	I'm jealous, I can't get my story thoughts straight and your posting a third story. I enjoyed it as well, though I think Mace was Palps equal or more so on the duel issue, Mace was winning, it was only Anakin that gave Palps the win in their duel. 	Return of the Jedi: The Lost Scenes Title: To Forgive Author: GrandAdmiral_Frank Genre: Sci-fi/fantasy Characters: Han, Lando Summary: Han and Lando make amends with each other. "So much for getting out of debt with Jabba", said Han Solo to his firstmate the Wookie Chewbacca. The Corellian was sitting on the ground in his dark, cold, and wet cell in Jabba's Palace. Chewbacca or "Chewie" as Han called him stood holding the bars that ran along the top of the cells. Were they pipes? Han was so bored in here he actually wondered that. He was worried about Leia. Jabba the Hutt was known for having an ecentric taste in beautiful human females and Leia was a prime canidate for one of his dancers. Just then Chewie growled out something. "I was just thinking", said Han. "[Are you worried about Leia?]", asked Chewie. "Yeah, but-", and with that the door opened up and one of Jabba's guards came in. Han rolled his eyes. Another beating. "I hope you brought some backup, this Wookie behind me is known for ripping people's arms out of their sockets", said Han in a tone of voice that stated he really didn't care what the guard had in mind. "I'm not here to hurt you Han", said the voice of the guard. Han swore he knew that voice. "Did the carbon freeze mess with your sight and your hearing?", asked the voice. "Lando?", asked Han. He could barely see but walked over to him anyways. His hands found the shoulders and then he grabbed him and threw him into Chewie. Chewie caught Lando but he let him go. "What're you doing you big furry oaf?", demanded Han to his best friend. "You mean you haven't told him yet?", asked Lando. "Told me what?", asked Han. "Well it was your job so you tell him", said Lando to Chewie. "[Lando helped us out after you were frozen. He joined the Alliance and he's one of us now. I forgot to mention that after I told you about Luke]", explained Chewie. "Great, I'm glad that everyone made up and is hugging and singing now. What are you doing here?", asked Han. "I'm working undercover trying to brake you out, but it's not looking good", said Lando. "Why should I trust you?", asked Han. "Because I did something wrong and I have done the most I could to make up for it. Just ask Luke or Leia or Chewie here. I know what I did wasn't right but all I can do now is help when and where I can. I never felt at all happy about what happened on Bespin", said Lando. "Why would you do that to a friend? A good friend you've known for a while?", asked Han. "Look I had no choice. You weigh out a friend's life or countless thousands of people. Vader would have destroyed Cloud City. I held out as long as I could and then I helped Leia and Chewie escape. We tried to rescue you but Boba Fett blasted out of the place", said Lando. "[He's telling the truth the Han. I was about to strangle him to death as soon as he let us go. Lando got a clean slate after that to me.]", said Chewie. "I'm sorry, it's just that the last time I saw you I was in the carbon freezing chamber and now here I am because of you. I see where you're coming from", said Han. "No Han I'm sorry", said Lando. "Guess this means we're still friends", said Han. "You bet it you old pirate", said Lando and with that the two grasped each others hands. "[How cute]", said Chewie laughing. "Laugh it up fuzzball", said Han. "All right I better get back on my shift.
