Swoop Race

Jabba's Palace

Han Solo and his firstmate Chewbacca had just been reunited and of all in places in one of Jabba's prison cells. Chewbacca had updated Han on everything that had been occuring since he was encased in carbonite on Bespin. Han was so happy despite the cold and the fact that his vision was still in a blur due to hybernation sickness to see his best friend. He still worried about Leia, he was sure Jabba had some degrading purposes for someone as beautiful as she. If only he had his DL-44 and Chewbacca his bowcaster...

They heard the door unlock and one of Jabba's dark skinned guards came in wearing a helmet that looked as if it were combined with some part of a skull. Han could not see who it was but when he heard the voice he knew instantly who it was.

"How are you two holding up?", asked Lando Calrissian. Han almost laughed hearing that voice.

"Shouldn't you be somewhere counting credits or setting someone else up?", asked Han bitterly even though Chewie had told him that Lando was helping out the Rebel Alliance nowadays.

"Chewie I thought you would have told him?", asked Lando.

"He did I'm just giving you a hard time. I wouldn't be in this mess though", remarked Han.

"Look I ain't proud of what happened but we will get you out. I came to check on you because I thought that the Gamorreans would rough you two", said Lando.

"The Gamorreans? Oh I forgot that some who worked for Jabba are still bitter about what we did", said Han.

"Yes and I think the only reason why you two aren't on the receiving end of Gamorrean axes right now is because Jabba wants you two for some sick session of torture before death. You never know though with those Gamorreans.", said Lando.

"Well what's the plan now?", asked Han. Outside they heard a Gamorrean yelling at their cell.

"Looks like I have to go, hang in there", said Lando and with that he left leaving Han with memories of the Gamorreans...

Desilijic Complex-7 years ago

Jabba the Hutt sat on a dias in his town house as he exchanged meetings throughout the day with clientelle. His major-domo Bib Fortuna would whisper in the Hutt's ear just as a client would approach and mention a feat or a debt to the Hutt about that particular person. By the time the twin suns were set on Tatooine Jabba ended the day with the meeting he had been looking forward to. A Corellian man and his furry firstmate came in and Jabba raised his arms in greeting.

"Han ma booki, achuta", said Jabba.

"Hello there Jabba, I heard you wanted to see me", said Han.

"Tagwa, me brogghto hetossk chawa", said Jabba taking his hookah pipe to his mouth.

"You want me to race?", asked Han puzzled.

"Tagwa, bargon u noa-a-uyat", replied Jabba.

"I would hope so, how much are we talking here?", said Han.

"Weata ata rao", said Jabba.

"Oh I see, I have to win first. Is it a swoop race? I used to race in my day. You might as well pay me now Jabba", said Han. This caused Jabba to emit a rumbling chuckle.

"Lapim nallya so bata de wompa, u-woonloo", said Jabba.

"You want me to lose!", asked Han surprised.

"Doonwu Han ma booki", said Jabba.

"Where is the race being held?", asked Han.

"Gamorr, ee datachipp-un tablo", said Jabba motioning for his Twi'lek major-domo to bring to Han a datachip. Han put the chip in one of the pouches on his vest.

"E-weela Gamorr", said Jabba and with that the meeting ended.

Gamorr, Opoku System, Outer Rim Territories
Jugsmuk Station
Two standard weeks later

The Millennium Falcon had landed in docking bay 02 of Jugsmuk Station. It was the only official location on Gamorr where offworlders could be safe from the Gamorreans. Han had had misgivings about this race since the moment Jabba had told him about it on Tatooine. The Hutt knew that Solo would accept with the amount of credits involved. As far as Han saw it the Falcon needed some "special" modifications if he was going to continue this smuggling gig.

Chewbacca carried his bowcaster and had a laser canon fitted with a strap around the shoulder of his hulking frame. Chewie had told Han about his dislike of Gamorreans on the hyperspace travel to Gamorr. The Wookiee did not take them lightly hence his arsenal he had brought with him. His arsenal had also included a bandolier of power packs and frag grenades and a hunting knife he kept sheathed at his side. Han merely carried his modified DL-44 Blastech.

Before departing to Gamorr the two made a brief stop at Corellia where Han had kept his old swoop racer in storage. Now it was stowed aboard the Falcon awaiting for Han to mount it once more. Jabba the Hutt himself would be a spectator at the race which would start in two days and it was all up to Han to not win but rather lose the race for Jabba.

Han was losing because Rotho the Hutt had asked Jabba to provide him with a swoop racer for Carnuss Gorguul circuit. Rotho needed to win for both credits and a continuing respect for his continuously growing prowess in the underworld. Jabba, a tactful mastermind of the criminal underworld, wanted Rotho to lose the race because Jabba wanted to win over the Gamorreans. The Gamorreans were a generally violent and confrontational race and Rotho was no different. With similar approaches in life it was easy for the Gamorreans to follow Rotho. Jabba wanted them to see how weak he was in his judgement. Han losing was how he would show them, afterall it would be disgraceful for the overlord of the Gamorreans to lose on their homeworld. Han was dubious over how a swoop race could determine so much but he instead decided he would focus on his task. Jabba did include that Han was supposed to lose in a convincing way. Chewbacca told him he was crazy, he believed it.

"[Don't all Hutts have access to Gamorrean enforcement?]", asked Chewbacca.

"They do but Jabba wants the Gamorreans to recognize that he is the strongest of all the Hutts. He wants the Gamorreans to answer to him instead of him going through Rotho. Honestly I think there is more to it than just that. He probably wants to humiliate that slug", said Han as they made their way to the station hotel which already had a room reserved for them curtesy of Jabba the Hutt.

Carnuss Gorguul's Citadel
The day of the swoop race

Jabba the Hutt had arrived to Gamorr in a starcruiser dubbed Tiure flanked by Z-95 Headhunters while having an impressive armament of laser canons. The Hutt rarely used the starcruiser unless travel from Tatooine was absolutely required. Where the Hutt kept the Tiure docked was a mystery in itself. After the fleet of Headhunters and the Tiure had settled into Jugsmuk Station the Hutt had dropped the cargo doors of the starcruiser to make way for his personal sail barge Khetanna.

Han could not help but admit to his friend Chewie that the Hutt had certainly made an entrance. Flanked by a couple of Bantha II-cargo skiffs the Khetanna made its way to Carnuss Gorguul's citadel to settle nearby the audience stands.

Han had been running a systems check on his swoop bike once more and had been running checkups all morning on the swoop's engine. Chewbacca had surprised Han by introducing some new components into the engine as they labored the night before. Han had inquired to his friend about how he had obtained the parts and Chewbacca replied by informing his friend he had arm wrestled a Gamorrean during their visit.

"I'm surprised they didn't all just turn on you!", said Han running a gloved hand along the seat of the swoop.

"[They wanted to until I challenged all of them and beat each one. I'm just happy I'm not racing because this arm is sore]", remarked Chewbacca massaging his right arm.

"Oh poor little Wookiee", said Han which caused Chewbacca to flash his teeth. "Hey you knew I'd say something!"

Just then a group of Nikto's and Gamorreans led by a pale skinned Twi'lek approached the two. Han recognized the Twi'lek as Jabba's major-domo Bib Fortuna.

"Jabba sends his regards and wishes you luck in the race", said Bib in a way that told Han to stick to the plan.

"You tell him he has nothing to worry about", said Han evenly. At the hotel he had studied the intell on the datachip which laid out the course for the Carnuss Gorguul circuit. From what Han saw of the track it was like any other except in an ancient Gamorrean built citadel which meant all you had to do was not crash into a wall or a building structure.

With that the Twi'lek bowed and left Han and Chewie to their swoop bike. What a twerp!, thought Han to himself. Chewbacca saw that the race would start soon and told Han he would be watching in the stands. The two clasped arms and Han shook his head in affirmity.

Chewbacca had made his way into the concession stands of the citadel when he remembered that Jabba had provided him with a V.I.P. pass that would allow him access into the observation booths which were extra priced. The Wookiee headed to one of the booth's and once inside could not help but laugh to himself because in the booth stood Lando Calrissian.

"Chewie! What are you doing here? I figured you'd be down there closer to the action! Let me tell you, I just happened to be insystem running a game of sabacc when I heard that Han Solo was going to be in the race. I cleaned up the game, with a fine amount of winnings I might add, and now I'm going to win more because I know that Han won't lose!", said Lando all smiles as he grasped Chewie's arms. At this Chewbacca's eyes widened and he told Lando all about Jabba's scheme.

"WHAT! I should of known that it was all too good to be true! All bets are final! No, no, no", said Lando pacing back and forth with his hands on his head.

"[Sorry my friend]", said Chewbacca.

"Sorry I made a bet on that scoundrel", said Lando. Chewbacca roared at Lando which stopped the man's pacing.

"You're right, who was I to know? Besides Han wouldn't let me walk into a bet like that", said Lando letting out a breath.

"[Let's watch the race, besides it should be interesting to see what the Hutt's do]", said Chewbacca.

Carnuss Gorguul's citadel was once used as a podracing track in the days of the Old Republic. In keeping with the spirit of it being a racing venue the Gamorreans kept it running as a swoop race track which was now run by Rotha the Hutt. Han sat mounted on his swoop bike amongst the other racers most of whom were Gamorrean. Other racers were human, Whiphid, Nikto, and Aqualish. All together there were twenty-four racers. Above the starting line which would also be the finish line of the race was a wide and arched bridge Rotho the Hutt sat upon to view the race. Brown colored with green eyes and a body frame as large as Jabba the Hutt he smoked away on a hookah as Gamorreans fanned him with the leaves of some exotic tree.

Han knew it was cold because he could see his breath and above them the sky was a light gray. Trees surrounded the citadel on one side while various buildings and parts of the stands were on the other. Rotho made an announcement to the fans observing the race with a booming voice and once his monologue was finished a Gamorrean nearly covered in a gold plated suit of armor came out with a flag bearing the symbol of Rotho's clan. Han rolled his eyes as the Gamorrean began a countdown in a voice that boomed as loud as the Hutt. At the last number the flag came down and the race began. Han was already ahead of his opponents but really focusing on the track which he memorized with Chewbacca the last couple of nights.

He knew he had to lose but it was also important to lead on Rotho the Hutt. Behind him a Nikto had just been rammed into a wall by a Gamorrean resulting in an explosion that sent a rush of wind from behind Han. Twenty-three racers left and three laps to go and it was only seconds into the race.

Gamorr had always been ran by Hutts once the galaxy as a whole had discovered the Outer Rim World. Today it continued to be run by a Hutt. The Gamorreans were awed by power and strength and to them it was important that a Hutt always projected these things in every aspect of life. Rotho would hold true to his image of power and strength today by having a human race for him. Gamorreans spat on humans and if he could get one to win for him that would further signify his hold on the race.

Rotho the Hutt watched with satisfaction as Jabba's human racer was clearly on top of his game. He did not care for humans at all but this one was certainly the cause of the smile on his face. It was too bad that Jabba the Hutt considered himself in Rotho's league, afterall just because the Hutt practically controlled some petty little backwater desert world did not make him any force to be reckoned with. At least the Hutt knew his place and had provided Rotho with a competent racer. His Gamorrean comrads had lusted for blood and some of them had had members of rival clans entered into the race only so that they would die. Rotho had promised this and now he would fullfill it.

"Release them", said Rotho to his gold-plated Gamorrean familiar. The Gamorrean nodded his head and lumbered over to a lever behind Rotho's throne. What was going to happen would endanger his interests but if Jabba had truly provided him a competent racer than it was no problem.

The track had now gone from the outer rim of the citadel to right through it. There were many twists and turns and dark caverns through decrepit structures. Han noticed that the track was taking them up through the citadel and only wondered how complicated it would become. The track was certainly different from the schematics he had studied but at least he was still winning for the sake of Jabba's charade.

Behind him one of the human racers had pulled out a blaster and was taking shots at a Gamorrean in second place. Letting out a snarling squeal the Gamorrean took a battle axe that was strapped to the side of his swoop and hurled it and the human. The axe spun fast and hit the human straight in the forehead causing the now lifeless body to be lifted off the swoop. At the same time another Gamorrean had been climbing up in the rankings only to the have the human body with the axe in his head be impaled right into the swoop. The impact of the dead body sent the Gamorrean off track enough to cause an explosive collision with a pillar.

A roar of blood thirsty cheering could be heard throughout the citadel. Han was now side to side with the Gamorrean. The piglike humanoid had drool dripping down onto his seat as he glared at Han. Ahead of them Han could see a thick cloud of dust rising above the buildings in the citadel and could feel his gut start to sink. What now?, he thought to himself.

To his surprise the cloud of dust was being caused by a stampeding herd of reeks that were heading right in his direction. There was no way that the racers could risk going head on with the beasts and even if they could navigate through them it would take more than skill. Han looked around and he saw no place that he could detour to. The track had reached a point where they were traveling through a long and wide walkway with walls on each side and lattice work above. Gritting his teeth Han continued and sure enough the first line of reeks came at them.

Almost evil looking the beasts galloped in fierce strides with horns posed to kill any racer stupid enough to come at them. Han hoped Jabba would be generous and throw in a bonus for this type of work but as he came closer to the reeks the track dropped and Han went down with a handful of racers. He looked behind to see a trap door had lowered in the track and raised up in time before the reeks could fall down. This meant that hwhoever did not make it in time was sure to be trampled by the reeks. What have I got myself into?, thought Han.

In this underground part of the track the way was lit by torches on each side and Han noticed that the ground was flooded by a murky water. An Aqualish had reached up to Han and the Gamorrean wearing a pink jumpsuit and a pair of huge googles. Han almost started laughing but he had to focus in the dim light. He took another glance at the Aqualish and saw he had produced a pair of blasters and was crossing his arms to take shots at Han and the Gamorrean. Cursing Han ducked a shot that sizzled above to impact on the stone wall sending fragments of rock at him.

Han had his DL-44 Blastech in his side holster but he did not want to chance trying to reach for it and navigate this dimly lit underground passage. More shots continued and the Gamorrean who had taken the lead now snagged a torch from the wall and hurled it at the Aqualish. The Aqualish shot the torch with both blasters sending it into flaming splinters in each direction. Laughing the Aqualish continued on harassing Han and the Gamorrean with a thankfully poor aim. Han was sure that soon one of the shots would hit him so he began to edge his hand towards his side when the Aqualish let out a yell of terror. Han and the Gamorrean continued onwards as the Aqualish suddenly disappeared.

What the hell happened to him?, thought Han.

***

Lando couldn't help but wince as the Aqualish swoop racer was stopped dead in his tracks by a dianoga. The live camera feed in the underground passage zoomed in as the dianoga had its way with the racer.

"Looks like a snack for a dianoga! Now let's go back and see how the other racers did against the stampede of reeks!", said the Bith commentator through a microphone unit. The cameras showed a wreckage of smoking swoops, dismembered racers and one dead and bloodied reek. "Well there you have it! You can never tell what could happen in these ruins. Now back to our remaining racers who have just made their way out of the underground tunnel."

Chewbacca's tale of how Han was supposed to lose was affirmed when the Gamorrean took first place. Lando cursed silently to himself and longed for his credits to be in his pocket.

****

Han squinted as the track went up and out into the bright gray sunlight of day. The track continued on through the ruins for almost a minute when they passed the marker making this the second lap of the circuit. Now the track took them through their original direction and Han could see a hole in one of the walls where the reek stampede must have gone through. Before long they passed the casualties of the stampede and Han could see that one of the reeks had taken too many hits by swoop racers.

They then came up the walkway where the underground tunnel had been but Han noticed that instead they continued on to a ramp that led them in a jump to a lake in the citadel. Water sprayed in mists behind Han as he started to catch up with the Gamorrean. The other racers, the three that were left were gaining as well. In the middle of the lake was an island with a single structure and above were the words RACERS ENTER HERE spelled out in Huttese. The Gamorrean with Han close behind both entered together and watched as their environment dropped down into a corridor of tubing that went underwater. All around them where various species of fish and reptiles; all looking ever so threatening.

***

Chewbacca was not at all happy about this race. Rotho the Hutt looked more than pleased as Han took back first. Someone was behind all of those 'surprises' and he was sure it was Rotho. Lando beckoned for Chewie's attention as the screen split to show one racer who had decided not to enter the underwater tubes and was instead traversing the lake in search of another route. The screen was giving attention to this racer because he too was in for a nasty surprise.

"Watch out here come pirates! The blood thirsty mongrels have took aim with the canons aboard their skiff. I almost can't watch and THERE it is folks! One obliterated Whiphid", said the Bith announcer.

"Chewie I thought you said Han was supposed to lose", said Lando as the screen went back to focus on Han and the other racers.

"[He is, just watch]", said Chewbacca.

***

The underwater tube was certainly a stretch and then the worst that Han could possibly imagine happened. An explosion occured in the distance behind them and cracks lanced out in all directions that quickly reached the racers. Han turned and saw the horrific sight of rushing water that was gaining faster and faster. He throttled the accelerator on the swoop and kept his eyes forward. One of the swoop racers was engulfed in the monstrous body of water only to have his body picked apart by the deep sea monsters that lurked in the lake. Han noticed the tube had started to climb and climb and climb and up ahead he saw the light of day.

Gritting his teeth he continued on hearing the roar of the water become louder and louder. His back was sweating, his body was shaking and he let out a yell as the swoop shot up over a canyon of rusted and wrecked swoops and scattered skeletons. His yell continued as he saw what he was doing and he could also hear the Gamorrean letting out a high pitched squeal. Another Gamorrean racer, the last one left aside from the two, had made it out of the tube as well soaked in mist but was not so lucky as the water smacked against his swoop sending it spiraling towards the jagged rocks of the canyon floor.

Han landed with more than enough feet to clear the cliff drop and continued on a dirt road of the track. The Gamorrean landed and Han kept his speed low enough for the Gamorrean to be side to side with him. On the side of the Gamorreans swoop it said Thok. Han decided that that was what he would call him. Thok pressed a button on his swoop's handle bars and a pair of blades were released on the sides of the swoop.

Oh brother!, thought Han as the Gamorrean came in for a ram that stuck the two swoops together. Cursing Han tried to wriggle his swoop free but Thok's swoop had been lodged into his swoop. Thok contained a visage of fury and determination and as he glared at Han he attempted to slap Han off his swoop. Han ducked the slap and poked Thok in the eye. Clearly angered the Gamorrean pulled out a knife from his side and lunged at Han. Han sucked his gut in and moved back as the knife came and then he grabbed the bulky and fat arm and twisted it. Thok squealed and punched Han hard in the jaw. Yelping in pain Han grabbed his already throbbing jaw and had to lean back to avoid another swipe from Thok's blade. The movement sent Han's arms up enough that Thok had been able to slash his wrist. Han cried out and then threw an elbow into Thok's side followed up by slamming of the Gamorreans head onto his own swoop. Han threw all of his weight into a sudden and sharp side movement and with Thok's weight going the other way the two swoops unclasped.

Eyes focused on the track Han throttled his swoop and could hear the sastisfying rumble of a custom engine that only he and Chewie could have coupled together, if only they could do as well on the Falcon repairs. The dirt road blended back into the ruins and after passing under an archway the two were led into the finish line which marked the final lap.

Gamorreans were a primitive species and you usually only saw them in the employ of a crime network as guards and few were actually intelligent. Thok must have been a wonder-Gamorrean to have be able to keep up with Han and manage this devastation of a race. He glanced backwards to see Thok was once again making an attempt to pass him. Han had no excuse to lose with his swoop and his skills yet he still had to lose. How Han had gotten his next idea he could not explain but it seemed a perfect way to humiliate Rotho the Hutt.

Putting his modified engine to its maximum capacity Han easily left Thok in a trail of dust and luckily the final lap was not riddled with split-second detours and obstacles. Before long Han could see the finish line and could see Rotho above on his dias smiling with greed. Within feet of finishing the race Han hit the brakes which caused an instant and simultaneous gasp to emit from the crowd. Leaving his swoop in a hovering park Han dismounted his swoop. The Bith announcer was going on about astonished as he crossed his arms and leaned against the swoop feigning a yawn. Jabba would most likely not count on this and as far as Han was concerned he had not counted on the extra life threatening features of a race he was not told about. Sure enough Thok came up and he could see the raised brow and confused look but of course the Gamorrean continued on. Above him Rotho had slid off his dias and was screaming at Han to finish the race. Looking up at the Hutt Han pretended to be confused and put a hand to his ear. After that it was over as Thok crossed the line causing the crowd to half cheer and half boo.

***

"Who does he think he is?", shouted Rotho and in his rage he slapped one of his Gamorrean entourage members. All he could do was glare over at Jabba's Sail Barge. Was this a game for the other Hutt? Would he really chance angering Rotho on his own turf? No matter what the human swoop racer would pay for what he did.

"HE WILL PAY!", screamed Rotho as the human continued to stand with his arms crossed. Still angry he decided to knock a Gamorrean off of the archway he used to view the races. The imbusile of a creature squealed out in terror as he plunged to his death and Rotho called attention to himself before the crowd of race spectators.

***

Han was still standing in the casual pose he adopted. Thok was being commended by his Gamorrean comrads. Rolling his eyes he could not help but laugh to himself about how the Gamorreans were actually considering this win an accomplishment. Just then a Gamorrean was knocked off of the archway directly above the finish line and Han looked up to see a certainly upset Rotho the Hutt.

"Behold...this puny human has insulted the court of Rotho the Hutt and therefore his punishment shall be death! I command all Gamorreans to not rest until he has been murdered!", boomed Rotho raising his arms which brought all Gamorreans in the stands and all throughout the citadel to raise their fists in war cries. Han's jaw dropped at this and cursing he took out a switch blade and cut off some fabric from his sleeve and tied it around the bleeding cut on his wrist. After doing so he then checked the power pack on his blaster and began scanning for snipers. He was out in the open and Rotho had just claimed him a dead man so he could be in no worse of a spot at this moment.

Always wondered when being a smart-ass would get me in trouble, thought Han as he saw Thok and his group gathering up their weapons.

***

Onboard the Khetanna Jabba the Hutt watched Rotho declare Solo a dead man. He let out a low grumble of frustration and nodded to the most notorious bounty hunter in the galaxy Boba Fett. The armor clad Mandolorian nodded back in return and left the Sail Barge. Jabba then motioned for Bib Fortuna and whispered to the Twi'lek and at this Bib snapped his fingers to Jabba's entourage who all understood what part they had to play.

Within minutes Jabba's sail barge had started its repulsors and had had people ready to man its laser canon turrets. The Bantha-II skiffs were also gearing up for what was to be a fight to the death. Glaring at the image of Rotho on his vid screen Jabba wished death in silent on the competetion of a Hutt

***

Chewbacca had heard Rotho's declaration and had instantly stood up to run out of the booth and down to where he could continue on honoring his life debt to his best friend Han Solo. Lando had been blabbering out questions but had also in turn followed Chewie.

"What's going on?", asked Lando.

"[Shut up and get a blaster!]", roared Chewie.

"All right", said Lando bitterly as he grabbed his blaster that was holstered in a bootstrap.

Chewie had already started descending the stairs by the time the Gamorreans who knew Chewie had accompanied Han were in pursuit. Lando sent a vocal warning to Chewie who stopped and spun on a heel to send a rain of blaster fire upon the Gamorreans. The Gamorreans were still charging as most of them were cut down and at this time Lando had dropped to one knee and began picking others off. Fans and gamblers in the audience were all screaming now and pushing into each other to try and escape the melee. This made things easier for Chewie who turned and continued on his mission to be at Han's side. Lando had a hard time keeping up with the long and powerful strides of the Wookiee. They were almost there when one Gamorrean charged at Chewie with a spear from the side. Seeing the Gamorrean out of the corner of his eye Chewie stopped in time and grabbed at the spear and lifted it up with animal strength hailing the Gamorrean into the air to land on the steps and break his neck. Still holding the spear Chewie sent it at a Gamorrean who had been watching the first attacker.

"This is crazy!", yelled Lando still following the Wookiee to his friend.

Han had taken cover behind the swoop because Gamorreans in the top archway were shooting ceremonial arrows at him. Below the archway of snipers Thok the Gamorrean had re-mounted his swoop and was having comrads move in on Solo. Chewie wanted to go over to Han but he knew the Gamorreans would have a better shot at Han's new reinforcements. To Lando's surprise the archway was suddenly riddled in explosive laser fire as many shots erupted from Jabba's now moving sail barge. It took mere seconds to turn the archway into a gap as its remains crumbled to the race track in smoking ruins. A lopsided grin on his face Han emerged from the swoop and joined Lando and Chewie. Thok was the only one who had made it alive and had turned his swoop around to escape into the surrounding forests.

"Lando! What are you doing here?", said Han taking a shot at a Gamorrean.

"Betting on a loser", said Lando who scrambled down by a row of seating and began taking shots at a now growing group of Gamorreans.

"A loser! This ain't over yet", said Han as Chewie hauled a frag grenade at the Gamorreans. "That's what I'm talking about Chewie".

Boba Fett was walking through a desserted corridor at this time in search of Rotho the Hutt. Jabba had known that he could provoke Rotho in a way that required no action on Rotho's part. Since Rotho acted out against Jabba's 'associate' in such a violent manner the Hutt had no other choice but to retaliate. Rotho was now going to die and it was all legitmized because as Jabba sent out Fett he had his legal people he brought to Gamorr draw up official bounties on Rotho's head. Fett of course was already in position so when he killed Rotho he was merely doing his job for Jabba. Fett believed that Rotho deserved to die, he treated Gamorreans horribly.

Certain displeased members of Rotho's organization had provided Jabba with plenty of dirt on Rotho and in addition had provided blueprints of not only Rotho's Castle but also Carnuss Gorguul's Citadel. Fett knew the routes the Hutt would be taking to ensure he escaped while the Gamorreans were supposed to savagely murder Han Solo. Personally Fett could care less if Solo went out on this day. One thing he knew was already in motion and that was Rotho's death. A Gamorrean who was supposed to be standing sentry at another corridor Fett had entered was watching the melee of the audience stands. Hearing Fett he turned only to be silenced in a gargling display of blood and slobber as Fett had slashed him acoss the throat with a vibro-blade.

Fett continued on walking planning out exactly how he would kill Rotho the Hutt.

***

"We're pinned down here", yelled Lando with eyes wide as he continued laying down fire on the Gamorreans. A flurry of shots was returned. Chewbacca was so huge that the seating could not cover him but fortunately the Gamorreans had no accuracy, they really were suited for hand to hand combat as opposed to artillery combat.

"Why don't we make our way up row by row covering for each other?", suggested Han who was covered in sweat.

"That won't take long", said Lando sarcastically peeking and ducking as a shot wailed over his head.

"We need to stay alive so I don't think we have to worry about how long it takes right now Lando", said Han irritably getting up and charging up the steps gun blazing. Chewie had pulled out the laser canon now and was walking up slowly pumping the Gamorreans with increased firepower.

Lando cursed to himself and made his way up the stairs with them and joined the newest spot of cover. They were all going to die today and he would go out a lousy gambler. At least I dressed good today, thought Lando as he was looking at his red trousers, poofy light-pink long sleeve and glittering ruby-red vest.

Members of Jabba's entourage had entered the fray and were now attacking the Gamorreans in the upper booths and stands. Chewbacca and Han were still taking shots at the Gamorreans above in their section when a trap door opened in the stairs to produce more Gamorreans in the trio's immediate area. Han cursed loud and shot one in the face. Chewie had had his laser canon snatched up by a Gamorrean. A lost protocol droid no one had noticed until now had made its way to the confrontation and in the next seconds Lando could not help but be shocked and laugh. Chewbacca had seen the silver droid and had instantly reached for its arm to rip it off and then used it to club the Gamorrean down until his face was a bloody pulp. Chewie scooped up his laser canon before another Gamorrean could. One had tried to do so and stumbled thus Chewie shot it in the back repeatedly. Lando himself had dodged an axe swing and let off shots into that Gamorrean.

Rotho had heard that Jabba's sail barge had entered what he was sure would be called the battle of Carnuss Gorguul. He himself had skiffs that he sent out to counter the sail barge. Jabba had two other skiffs that were in action as well as his own Khetanna however Rotho was sure his five would do while he escaped. He had been considering enslaving the Gamorreans for the Empire and letting a moff run the world, he just might try and give him a call and have some Imperials clean this place up. The Empire could have this backwater world and he could have Jabba's holdings on Tattooine.

Accompanying Rotho were four armor clad Gamorreans and a couple of Zabrak assassins. Rotho knew the ins and outs of the citadel and Jabba was a fool for using this race as an excuse to move in on his territory. The two Zabraks stayed with Rotho while the four Gamorreans went ahead of them. They stopped when they heard the clanking of the Gamorrean armor stop.

Boba Fett had been waiting for Rotho in the halls of his escape route and now he faced his four guards. The Gamorreans all squealed in unison and unsheathed heavy looking swords. Fett cocked his head to the side and then raised his gauntlet to let out an orange streak of fire from his flamethrower. Unfortunately for the Gamorreans they could nothing but fall to the floor in agonizing pain as they cooked inside of their armor. A minute had not even passed and they were all on the floor with severe burns. Their faces were exposed and Fett used this opportunity to stroll by them and put a shot from his blaster into their heads one by one.

The Zabrak assassins took fighting stances and then produced vibro-shields that emitted from gauntlets on their wrists. Fett stood now and assessed the situation, the fools had their arms extended, calculating trajectories Fett then shot out poison darts from his dart launchers that were built into his knee pads. The darts stuck into the throats of the two Zabraks who feel gasping for air. In seconds they were dead and it was now Rotho and Fett.

"Fool! How do you suppose you could kill me? Jabba' personal lackey! I imagine you are posing to be a Mandolorian thinking that everyone forgot the Fett name with the Jedi. I have news for you bounty hunter, you do not intimidate me", said Rotho and with that bit of a speech he started to slither forward.

Unphased Fett dropped to one knee and angled his back and then shot the rocket out of his jetpack. The missile spiraled to the ceiling and exploded sending a shower of large rock onto the Hutt. Almost all of the Hutt had been covered except for his top half and one arm was trapped. Looking down at the dead Gamorreans Fett picked up a heavy sword and walked to Rotho. Raising up the sword he brought it down to cut off Rotho's only usable arm. The Hutt shrieked in pain and then Fett pulled out his own vibro-blade and cut out the tongue of Rotho which he would present to Jabba the Hutt. Fett then produced a timed explosive and shoved it in the Hutt's bloody mouth. To make sure he swallowed it he kicked Rotho in the chest and the Hutt gasped for air swallowing the device. Turning away Fett walked off and had made it out to the audience stands when the bomb went off marking the death of Rotho the Hutt.

An explosion occured off in one of the nearby structures that completely leveled it. A thick cloud of dust began to roll over into the stands and the only illumination came from the back and forth pounding that was occuring between Jabba and Rotho's skiffs. Red flashes and loud noise.

Chewbacca roared and used this distraction to charge up to confused Gamorreans and stab them with his knife which to Han and Lando was more like a machetti. Lando had heard that Chewbacca was a fighter and he knew that Wookiees were fierce and you should never anger one but never had he seen one in action like this and it was brutal. Rotho had had other Whiphids joining in the fighting but they had no real affect. Jabba's entourage was cleaning up the citadel by now and he was sure that there was plenty of casualties on both sides. By the time the dust had settled most of the fighting had spead out to far reaching areas of the citadel. Han, Lando, and Chewbacca sent the last of the Gamorreans who had come after them running away in retreat.

"Well that was fun", said Han.

"You can say that again", said Lando.

Chewbacca glanced back and then decided it was safe enough to sit down. Lando and Han did the same and watched as three of Rotho's skiffs that were still standing were finished off. Jabba had only lost one skiff while the other one had been hovering yet still smoking.

Han let out a sigh and realized he just wanted to go to sleep now but he had to pick up his swoop and meet with Jabba. After resting a few more minutes Han forced himself to go collect his swoop and then the three loaded it onto the Falcon. At this time Bib Fortuna had arrived with some protection and greeted Solo who was making exterior checkups on the Falcon.

"Jabba would like to meet with you, I will show you to him", said Bib. Chewbacca had come down the landing ramp with Lando who was wiping his hands with a dirty rag.

"Sounds like a plan, c'mon", said Han to his friends and they were off to the Khetanna.

Onboard the Khetanna the Max Rebo band played an upbeat dancing tune as members of Jabba's crew were all drinking and swapping stories that ended in laughter. Jabba himself was looking very smug as he smoked on his pipe, handing Boba Fett a pouch of credits. Han was not sure if he was seeing things right but it looked like Fett had presented Jabba with a tongue. Jabba had one of his drink servers place it on an empty tray and it was taken somewhere in the back of the sail barge, probably the kitchen for cold storage.

"Han ma booki!", said Jabba raising his massive golden goblet in greeting.

"Jabba", said Han nodding.

"Han easta wurr gudda mee plaa took", said Jabba.

"Well I'm glad it all worked out", said Han, apparently Jabba found Han's idea for losing quite humorous and it only made him happier as he was seizing all of Rotho's holdings. Han had found out via Bib Fortuna that Jabba had provided certain Gamorrean heads with proof that Rotho had met with an Imperial moff and had considered betraying them to an enslaving servitude all for the benefit of the Galactic Empire. The Gamorreans were now allied with Jabba the Hutt and he would ensure that he could find them work in his organization and others. Any casualties on both sides were written off because of Rotho's actions so that left Jabba the one true victor.

"Hey Jabba my friend here lost his winnings because of Rotho's race. Is there any chance he'd get some compensation?", asked Han knowing Lando would greatly appreciate it. Jabba nodded and had Bib Fortuna arrange for Lando to pick up his money at the booth where bets were placed for the races. After that Han and Chewie received their credits from Jabba and to Han's surprise Jabba threw in some extra which was probably to make up for the fact that Han could have died in the race. Jabba admitted he had no idea that Rotho was planning on altering the race and that Han had done more than impress him that day.

Jabba offered to allow them to stay with his entourage in celebration but Han declined because he wanted to leave Gamorr and hopefully never come back. On the way to the Falcon they picked up Lando's winnings and then it was time to leave Gamorr.

"Everything set?", Han asked Chewie. The Wookiee growled an affirmative and the three friends assembled in the cockpit of the Falcon to leave Gamorr.
