The Wizard and I just returned from seeing Superman Returns. In a word...PERFECT.

At times I thought that Christopher Reeve had also returned, especially with John Williams inspiring theme. During the first of Superman's rescue's I wanted to cheer. Brandon Routh has done the blue tights proud and the rest of the cast is just as perfect in their roles.

I've been in love with Superman since before I could read-as I learned to read using the Superman comic books. After Superman III and IV I had thought my love had grown a little cold, perhaps it had but it has now been rekindled and I will wipe those movies from my mind and "believe that this is really Superman III.

Fly to the theatre and behold a man in red underwear, a cape, and a big "S" on his chest and believe. The magic is still there.

Liz and I just watched it, and to put it quite simple: it was AMAZING!! It's quite embarrasing to admit but I saw superman 4 in the theatres, and at the time(I was under 10), it brought smiles to my face. Now that I'm a bit older, and can see that the fourth movie was crap happy , it was awesome to get that same feeling from Superman Returns. The acting was great, the writing was great, and the effects were very believable.

Basically, I'm going to do what Superman Returns asks us to do: treat it was a sequel to the first two films, and disregard 3 and 4. I would go watch it again in a second.

yeah, i was thoroughly impressed. suffice it to say that i could never quite take a man who wears his underwear on the outside quite as seriously as a man who knows how to rock a nice cloak, but dude, yeah, that movie was awesome. i would definitely see it again.

I must say, over the years, superhero movies have been (well) crappy. This movie is by far the best superhero film since the original Superman movie and the orignal Batman movie. ***** is my vote. Not much more this little green guy can say except: WOW.

The Wizard and I went to see Superman again last night and it is still a great movie and I fell in love all over again. I know that some think that the story was a little thin or that Lois was not spunky enough, but really, it is Superman.

We have to get together and see this in IMAX. What the water scene does for Liz the flying scene does for me. Imagine that in IMAX.
