Have any of us heard when tickets will be on sale? I remember getting mine about two weeks prior for the Maple Grove theater. But it was under different management then. I plan on calling the same theater soon, when I am not so busy.

I think the ideal place would be the Moundsview Wynnsong theatre. The one theater holds 600 and I saw Phantom Menace there which was cool but I'll probably see Episode 3 at Inver Grove.

Could someone please comprise a list of all the Digial theaters in MN?

Plus, does anyone know the difference between a digital projector, a DTS (Digital Theater System), and a THX approved theater. Are the latter 2 only sound standards or do they include digital projection? I just don't know...

By the way, Wynnsong is a great theater (is it digital though?)

And how early is everyone lining up? How early are all the BIG fans in costumes goin'? I want the BEST seat, but I wanna know how early to be in line on May 18... any clues?

I do believe the only one is Eden Prairie

I know 'THX approved' is just where they have the THX system installed, instead of like Dolby. Digital Projector is actually the style machine they run - made specifically for digital movies. And a DTS is just a type of theater set up for digi movies.

No, it is not

Well, since we are trying to work with a theatre to be there in costume all day, a bunch of us will be there from probably about noon on.

Oh my. Would that mean that if you wanted good seats you'd have to arrive around noon?!

I wasn't with the group for EP2, and I got to a theatre around 10pm-ish, and my friend and myself got excelent seats.

Just people in costume are going to be there around noon to give atmosphere to the crowds coming in.

Most theaters running a midnight showing will be having more than one screen running so people who are not their all day will still have a shot at getting "good seats"

Yes if your really picky about which seat then you need to be there early to insure that. Remember there are goign to be 200-300 people all wanting to get the "best seat" Not everyone is going to be able to have it.

We had our own screen for Episode 2 so I really don't know what the Other folks had to deal with. I don't anticipate having that kind of luck this time though.

I demand we see it only in the place with the best chairs and the best popcorn and only in a theater who sells pepsi products and has reclining stadium seating with drink holders.

If you want pepsi (gross tongue ) then go to Carmike. They got all that. Popcorn is good! Chairs are comfortable and got cup holders.

yeah, it is. most of the newer theaters are digital. The only ones that i know that aren't are Har Mar, Roseville 4 (dollar theater)and a couple others which i'm drawing a blank. But most are.

Eden Praire is the only theater with a digital projection system and it's only in one of the auditoriums. It is also the only one in the tri-state area. Most theaters do have digital sound atleast in one auditorium, George Lucas requires it for Star Wars. The reason, why you want to go with the digital projection over just the digital sound is because Lucas shot the last two Star Wars films in Digital High Defination, therefore it's better to see it on a digital projector then a film one. Seeing how the digital version of Ep3 will be different, I'm hoping to catch digital at EP. I don't know if that'll be an option (though honestly why wouldn't they get it digitial?), but that's what I'm hoping for.

Not only is it close to me, but if I get off a 7pm on May 18th, I'll really love not having to drive way out to see the premiere. grin

That may not be possible though.

we have to work with which ever theaters are willing to work with us. Since we requre places to change and all that.

It's not as simple as just Picking a theater for us. at least not if we want to do anything more than just go to the movie. sad
