My friends and I, eagerly planning for our Ep.III bash, need to find some good Star Wars costumes. Anyone know of a store that sells some?

There really isn't a place or store to buy the type of costumes we use. We usually either make them or have them made special from a seemtress.

You can get the holloween type costumes at Party City and stuff if that's what your looking for. I don't know how much of that they really sell outside of halloweeen but it couldn't hurt to look.

happy

I, for one, just need a Princess Leia wig. The rest of my costume I will make (I've never had a store bought costume in my life, so why start now? Homemade costumes always look better, anyway). My friends need accessories like SW-style boots and etc.

Wal mart is Great for chick-jedi boots. Like $15! Normally you can find the same style in Black or Brown.

Guy boots - no clue.

Rubies does make a good Leia Wig with it's Princess Leia Halloween Costume. Good enough to beat Riibu in a costume contest anyway. Just don't tell her I mentioned that again. tongue (It's a sour spot with her)

You could try calling the Party Cities in town to see if they have one. I'll check next time I am by the one in Apple Valley but I don't know when that'll be.

Ebay would more than likely have them too. I don't know of any other places in town that sell that stuff year round.

Sorry. Rubies is the name of a company who makes Star Wars Halloween costumes.

Sorry. I should have been more clear about that. sad

Searching the internet is the best source I know of for instructions and some pieces for costumes. The 501st is the Imperial group. Equestrian boots work well for both Jedi and Empire for males - they can be found in a lot of places - they can be expensive, I've seen some folks use the "rubber barn boots" and those work well and cost less. If anyone is working on a cloak - I strongly reccomend using a bit heavier cloth so it drapes well and buy a lot - it's hard to have too much cloak!
happy costuming and send photos!

Now, does anyone know where I can at least find a nice, long brown wig so I can make a Leia wig of my own?

I'll ask the wife. She's a hair stylist and may know where to get wigs. She's asleep rate now though.

Ok, lea if you don't mind me adding on to the list...I was wondering if there is anyway to get the belt and saber without going through the internet. I don't trust buying stuff through there unless someone is willing to do it for me and i can pay them back.

I looked at sabershop.com and to buy a saber, now you have to go through ebay to get one. uck!

I know master replica has some too, but i wouldn't use them. Hope you can help.

You can make your own belt by going to a leather shop and getting belt blanks.

That's the only way I can think of without going through the Internet.

As far as the saber goes I don't know any other way other than making one your self with Hardware parts.

I think the guy who does Parks Sabers sometimes goes to cons and Sells them at them but I doubt that will be any thing local or soon.

Some places in town do sell Master Replica Force FX sabers. the ones with the blade attached that light up.

I've seen the FX sabers on sale at Shinders and at other Collectible toy stores.

I think other people have gotten them at Boarders book store too I beleve. But you can't hang them from your belt. But they look fantastic lit up.

Here is mine just sitting on my couch. no touch up on this picutre at all.

The belt blanks are something I can't really explain more. I got mine off the internet. I just know some people have purchased them locally too. Sorry.
