I noticed that there was an article about what people remembered from seeing star wars for the first time. I was wondering what your stories were.

I'll start first. I started likeing star wars alittle b4 TPM. I won't forget the first time i saw it. I went with a friend and my dad to har mar theaters. During the the under water scene the film projector broke. the first line stated when the projector was fixed was: "Power's back"~OB1 everyone in the theater burst into laughter. After that i was hooked. Now my friend and my dad blames themselves for taking me to the movie. happy

I saw Star Wars back in 1977 when I was 8 years old at the Roseville 4 theatre. Now they are showing second run movies.

Took me a few months after the movie came out in '77 to get to a theater - I took my little brother and we got the last two seats in the theatre - just in time for the Fox anthem to play........and it'sbeen magic ever since

I think the 2 1/2 hour documentary on the 4th disc mentions that it was released in just 32 theatres that year so it was really rare.

I was a kid. what? 6. My mom and dad took me to it.

I remember being scared when Vader busted into the blockaid runner. But then I had always liked being scared so I was hooked from that point forward.

Alas, I don't remember the first time I saw any of the movies. They were just always around and on tv sometimes. My earliest memory I have is asking my mom if we could watch the movie with the teddy bears and that big furry guy in it.

I remember when I became a superfan. It was in the summer when I was 12 or 13 and they played all three OT movies on a cable channel all day long. From that point forward, Star Wars was a part of my everyday life. happy

I remeber My mom letting me out of school the day ROTJ came out. She drove me and two of my friends to the theater early in the morning that day.

we showed up at like 6am for a 10 am showing and were like 10th in line.

It was great. It was the day Luke Skywalker became my absolute all time favorite Fictional character.

Up until that point I had liked Han more than anything.

But that Jabba Scene... Luke was just so fracking cool.

When he walked into the Palace like he owned the place mind tricking and choking his way into the throne room.. Dudes. that is the day being a Jedi became something for me. And when he lit it up on the Skiff and started carving his way through Jabbas men. I was Sold!
