Very Exciting news!!!
Star Tribune posted: 'Star Wars' coming to Science Museum
Science Museum lands blockbuster "Star Wars" exhibit.
By Tim Harlow, Star Tribune
Last update: September 13, 2007 – 11:52 AM
Friday the 13th has been the date commonly associated with bad luck, but next June it will be a high day for fans of the Star Wars series.
The Science Museum of Minnesota announced today that it has won the rights to host the blockbuster "Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination," which will open at the St. Paul museum on Friday, June 13, 2008.
Though still nine months away, starting today avid fans can log onto the museum's special website (www.smm.org/starwars) and join the priority e-mail ticket club. Those who sign up will be able to buy tickets to the blockbuster exhibit in March, a month before general ticket sales begin. They also will get updates about the exhibit and be alerted to special offers and opportunities, museum officials said.
Admission will be $17 for adults and $14.50 for ages 4 to 12 and 60 and older.
Developed by the Museum of Science in Boston in conjunction with Lucasfilm, LTD., the 12,000-square-foot exhibit features more than 80 costumes, models, and props from all six Star Wars films, including Princess Leia's famous white dress, Luke Skywalker's landspeeder from episode IV, a full-size R2-D2, Han Solo's rogue outfit, and a Yoda puppet.
Exhibit visitors will be able to climb aboard a full-size replica of the cockpit from Episode IV's Millennium Flacon and "journey" to a land far away. Guests also can sit inside a real-world hovercraft similar to Saga's landspeeders and step into a lab where they can build and program robots and engineer droids.
"We are thrilled to be the final stop on this incredible exhibit's tour of the nation," said Mike Day, senior vice president of museum enterprises. "The Star Wars films are such a beloved part of American culture, and we have a perfect opportunity to bring its iconic elements and the important lessons of science and technology that they represent to Science Museum visitors."
The Science Museum is one of eight museums in the United States to host the exhibit. St. Paul will be its last domestic stop before the exhibit heads overseas.

This is a very good exhibit. I saw this when it was at the MOS in Boston. I went to the World Premire sneak preview for MOS members and it was great. I was pretty impressed by their displays and what they had. Definitely a must see for those that are able to.
I may even head back to MN for a weekend before this goes over seas.

Hi guys,
was trolling the fanforce boards and thought,
Hey, wonder what the fans in Minnesota are saying about this.
http://www.smm.org/starwars/
(wow, these Halloween colors make things hard to read. Thus, the line above this is a link)

I have had fun visiting the one in Chicago, and thought that since
June to August is prime vacation time that it might be fun to
try and visit with fans in Minnesota and see this exhibit again.
Just a wild thought as I am bored here late night at work and we kinda
all got talking about what vacation planning, which for us here at FedEx
starts June 01, with a bid for time in March.
Anyway,
very nice to visit your boards today:-)
