In fairness, one of those episodes was in fact called 'Dalek'.

I do, Yeah. I think it compliments the 80's era, which I digg.

I like the 80s Theme also, but I prefer the original that was used up until Tome Baker, and the new series theme was very like that.
Plus the movie & McCoy era themes weren't very good.

Tonight's was pretty good. Just watching Dr Who Confidential on BBC3. The Doctor is getting a tour of the real Pompeii.

I thought that was fantastic. Donna is quickly becoming my favourite assistant for similar reasons why I liked Teegan as much as I did

RE: Dr.Who

Well, it's rare that I really dislike an episode, but this certainly qualifies.
What is it with the 2nd episode of a series having to be set on Earth in the past.
2nd series - Tooth and Claw - Queen Victoria
3rd series - Shakespeare Code - Shakespeare
4th series - Fires of Pompeii - Ancient Italy
The first half of the episode was absolutely dull, with one part that was actually worth watching, when Donna enquired about the TARDIS' translation abilities. I had to pause the episode when the first fire monster appeared, and I was in 2 minds whether to even watch the 2nd half of not.
The 2nd half was certainly better, and gave some nice moments of tension, but obviously the events from Runaway Bride were conveniently forgotten. In that episode, Donna was very outspoken about the Doctor causing harm - and that was to aliens. Here, it's all "ok, I'll help you do it" and this time it was about 20,000 humans.
And the whole Doctor's dilemma was moot. Should he pull the lever and kill the citizens? Well, yes, as that had already happened. He knew that Vesuvius had erupted in history, and he also knew that it wouldn't unless he caused it.
Then we had the ending with the stupid carving of the TARDIS. I was expecting that the young lad would end up being Caesar or some other important historical figure. Possibly that was the easy way out, but the option the writers chose was just "well....so?"
A hugely disappointing episode, and one which I highly doubt I'll watch again. Certainly the worst episode since.....well probably "The Unquiet Dead" which was only the 3rd episode in the new incarnation. I'd rather watch "Fear Her" or "Love & Monsters" than this.

I thought the Volcano monsters looked pretty good, and the rock makeup on the High Preistess was great.
Donna annoyed me, she went in and out of her Lauren style, which is not needed for Who, best kept in her sketch show. She was better last week.
And this whole thing of running around after the TARDIS seems silly, can't he just summon it with his sonic screwdriver?
The only majorly interesting part was the bit where the Doctor was told "she is coming" or something like that. I assume that means Rose, but it might not
