It was an OK episode.
Great as the Ood are, they didn't do an awful lot really. Tim McInnery's character wasn't overly evil either.
It was nice to have an offworld episode with very well done alien creatues.
I didn't feel the episode was as sad as it tried to make itself, but it was a good moral tale.
Roll on the Sontarans!

I'm sure the episode won't be that bad.
Just seeing the new revamped Sontarans will make the episode watchable, even if Tate is annoying as hell. Martha will hopefully restore some character.

Martha is a rubbish assistant, Donna is much more complex.

She's also much more annoying.
Donna to get Dalek-zapped in the finale.

I agree with Moylesy here. I found Martha very immature (Look at the Harry Potter stuff in The Shakespeare Code as an example). I think an older companion is much better, and Tate really is surprising me.
As for this week's episode. It was ok, but I don't like the fact that one week, the Doctor is saying how great the human race is, and how it always survives, and then another week (like this week), he's slagging them off left, right, and centre.

They have great survival instincts, but usually at the expense of other species.
And while Tate is more mature in terms of age and doesn't have the annoying love interest angle, she reverts too often to her comedic style. That is not needed
She was best in episode 1 and slipped a bit since, hopefully Martha will balance things better.

Something occured to me.
When Ood Sigma, who ruddy rocked for an Ood, said that the song must end soon I'm pretty sure he said "Doctordonna" so that would mean the song of the Doctor and Donna being a team would end soon. A hint to Tate probably leaving after this season.

Oh, and the "lets continue to drill the fact that Rose is going to be in an episode" is getting a bit annoying as well

There was some line about it, plus a "in your face" rendition of Rose's theme

I did think the Ood song sounded similar to Rose's theme.

I caught that line also - something like she is returning, or she is back I think. Was there a reference to her in The Fires of Pompeii?
