Just reading the reviews of the episode on AICN, and two people mention a cameo for Rose on one of the TARDIS' view screens. I'm gonna zip through the episode now and try to find it.
EDIT: Yup, just as the Doctor opens communication with the Sontarans under Galactic Code wotsit thingamybob.

Everton posted: Absolute horse****. Probably the single worst episode of the new Doctor Who so far. Ridiculous, overblown, preachy, absurd, convoluted, every step a misplaced one, absolute garbage.
And the preview for next week? Dear god.
The show is an absolute mess. Do they even need the Doctor anymore? The ensemble cast is so insanely large that the Doctor is reduced to little more than the basic exposition dialogue.
Spot on. A steaming pile of turd with chronic acting and script. Probably the script is why the acting is chronic. What's with the preaching? I've seen better acting and scripts on CBBC. You know it's bad when children find it embarrasing to say they watch this show. But now it appears that people think or say anything is 'good' due to the consistant dumbing down of the nation with rubbish like Pop Idol, Britains got 'talent' or Big Brother for example. Turd. Wake up and switch off. Thank-you. Good night.

It was cliche after cliche. from a writing point of view you look out for these things and the amount of times there was a convenient plot device to save the day was awful. It's unintelligent writing. alot of it was pointless/redundant and alot just didn't make sense. I still stand by what I said last year after Raynor's two parter last year - she shouldn't write for the show.
edit
although I look forward to next weeks episode. Feels like the character is kinda 'buffy' ish and to be fair I look forward to it

I enjoyed it, mainly because my expectations are very low. If I want to watch intelligent sci-fi drama, I'll watch Battlestar Galactica. Who is just Saturday night entertainment for me.

Agreed.
As for the Rose cameo, pretty unmissable....but saying that neither Mrs or Junior Moylesy saw it first time round. I'm not a lip reader but I would say that she was shouting "Doctor!".

Now this is really starting to become intriguing

perhaps, but it didn't used to be this pantomime
the Rose thing: seems like she could have been saying that

The problem there is that the show, as a prodution, aspires to so much more than 'Saturday night entertainment'. They are trying so hard to create a deep and intelligent mythology to this new Doctor Who, but keep making the wrong moves and falling back into ratings pap. There's all the silliness, but then you see (many) moments when they try to give it a depth and meaning that is usually washed away by the very next scene. They nearly had it in the first series, but ever since Tennant took over (and I'm not putting the blame at his door - he's fine) it's got worse and worse.
If they had lower expectations for the show than they obviously do, then I could get away with enjoying it on that level, but you can tell they want far more from it than they are capable of delivering.
The show is in a serious rut, and IMO the forthcoming break they're going to give it can't come soon enough. Unfortunately, the popularity of the show with the undemanding Saturday night audience will - upon the show's return - see it return to that rut pretty bloody quickly.

I thought it was a decent enough episode.
The Sontarans were fine. I am glad to see villains who call the hero's bluff and don't fall for the "I'm going to blow you all up" rubbish like so many others. They weren't afraid to die.
That being said, all the fuss about how UNIT shouldn't fight the Sontarans 'cos they'd be killed, and then suddenly they go running in and gun down "the finest warriors in the galaxy". I assumed the Sontarans were supposed to be bulletproof.
Catherine Tate wasn't great, but then the worst decision of the series was casting her in the first place. Martha was Ok, but the clone stuff went on too long.
Nice to see that The Brigadeer got a mention.

Catherine Tate is by far the best companion Dr Who's had in absolutely ages (yes, even going back to the old series). I honestly don't get why people dislike her character other than "it's Catherine Tate" ...

She's a poor actress who reverts to her odd comedy character remarks and mannerisms at random points and tries too hard to be funny. She's also utterly useless. Martha would've found something useful to do if left in the TARDIS alone.
She's not the worst companion ever, but she was only put in the try and appeal to kids and some adults who watch her show. This series would have fewer faults if she wasn't in it.
Hopefully rumours of her being gone after this series are true.

I agree 100% with Mustafar. She's been brilliant so far, and is much better than Martha.
I enjoyed this episode quite a lot. Not sure about next weeks though

Next week's episode does certainly look odd, even if Davidson's daughter is very attractive
But it might be good.

Donna is a good character because she has at least some depth to her and is not a "rose-lite", which is all that the Martha Jones character was (and all that Agyeman seems capable of portraying). To be honest I was dreading the thought of Cathrine Tate in Dr. Who but she has proven me wrong.

She started off as an actress and then was offered her own comedy show, she has since appeared in "straight" acting roles. Her mannerisms would not be noticeable if you were not aware of the "Catherine Tate" show. Maybe, just maybe, it is her own mannerisms that work their way into her characters?
SithLordDarthRichie posted: She's also utterly useless. Martha would've found something useful to do if left in the TARDIS alone.
Which affects the show how? Donna's uselessness (yep, she can not run as well) at least shows that she is human. A welcome change from those assistants that are too clever for their own good or just run around screaming.

It was quite a risky move by the production team in my book. Not a lot of kids watch the Catherine Tate show and a lot of adults (such as myself) don't really find her that funny.
