Great Episode.
It's quite clear that Moffat is beginning to set up an arc for when he becomes head writer - which will involve picking up a companion from a parrellel universe, around the year 2517 - when Humanity has colonized a new star system, leaving Earth that was behind - the shift in universe is temporary, yet a companion comes along - River Tam - this is yet to happen of course, and as such, seeing the 30-40 year old River Song, Whos name has changed due to marriage to an android, in the Whoniverse is the first time the Doctor sees her, and it is for this reason he takes her along with hi- I'll stop here. Perhaps a Firefly/Doctor Who crossover is going just a bit too far...
On a more serious note does anyone else wonder if River Song's last name is of importance, with regards to Planet of the Ood - we shall sing your song for many generations, (Or something along those lines, my memory is crap) or is it just a coincidence.

Man that was awesome. Glad steven is taking over if thats the sort of thing we'll be getting more of.
I think maybe the doctor actually falls properly in love with River Song at some point, actually has an out and out relationship with her. Maybe thats why she seemed so hurt by him not knowing her.
And her face when she realised who donna was. Very interesting.

She seemed like she'd prefer an in and out relationship

I was thinking maybe she is his wife, he never said if his wife was human or from Gallifrey and his grandaughter Susan is human isn't she?.
But then if the Time War has alaready been and his wife is dead then it's unlikely.

Since I'm very lazy and can't be bothered to go to the BBC, is this the same trailer that has been playing on BBC1?

Haven't really said much about this series, because Who died a bit to me when the last episode of last series had me very close to throwing large objects at my TV in sheer disgust. I have watched all the episodes online and largely it has been, meh. The Agatha one wasn't too bad. That was until last week, where you can once again see the writing is much improved, so glad about the news of RTD stepping down. The child actor is typically poor, as was the idiot girl, but generally a good episode with a good pace and a good build up of suspense.

Excuse me? That blew last weeks and basically every other episode ever out of the water!
Moffat FTW!!! That guy cant half write some fiction.
My mum was in tears of sadness then joy all in the space of 5 mins. Now my favourite episode above the doomsday two-parter and 'the girl in the fireplace'

I definitely think part 2 was better as well. I won't say it's my favorite episode (I liked 'Blink' better) but it is up there.

I was in the same place as your mum there Dewback. And once again I wave my flag of "they're giving the Doctor an emotional kick in the balls".
Loved the opening of the TARDIS door with snapping the fingers. So cool.
