The whole effort that was put in to eliminating the Dalek's silly flaws (like inability to climb stairs) that had led them to be mocked is wasted if they constantly get beaten.
The Daleks could climb stairs long before Davies got his hands on them.
I'm not very up on Old Who, but have the Daleks actually ever killed the Doctor? Perhaps they should be the ones to end Tennants reign, it'd definitely be a way of making them more threatening again.
I don't think they ever have.
A rumour that has come up over many years is that a Dalek Death Ray can kill a Time Lord outright (hence how the Daleks were able to be so effective in the Time War against a race that can regenerate). The Daleks have never killed the Doctor, but they might save that for the very last series if they decide they want to have him killed off.
This is meant to be true. The Who Visual Dictionary (canonicity uncertain) states that death rays can destroy every cell in a human body (though I've also read somewhere else that this stops Time Lord regenerative cells from activating, killing a Time Lord permanently.)

List of Doctor regeneration reasons:
1st Doctor: Original body had aged considerably
2nd Doctor: TARDIS sent crashing to Earth
3rd Doctor: Radiation poisoning
4th Doctor: Fell from a tower
5th Doctor: Poisoned along with companion by the drug Spectrox, gave only antidote to companion
6th Doctor: Reason for regeneration never shown on screen
7th Doctor: Shot in a gang war
8th Doctor: Reason not certain - due to event in Time War that wiped out Daleks & Time Lords & Gallifrey
9th Doctor: Absorbed the power from the heart of the TARDIS

2nd Doctor was forced to regenerate by the Time Lords.
While you can certainly fault 'new' Who for not coming up with a good enough original villain to end a series, at least they've recognised the old ones are still the best. I'd rather that than have it end with the Slitheen's menacing farts.

I've decided that next week that is NOT the Doctor dead. They would not kill the Doctor and put it in the preview.

Nothing wrong with ending a series with old villains, but they could've ended this series with Sontarans instead of featuring them earlier and putting Daleks at the end again.

No.
Who cares? The final two-parter looks set to be a blockbuster, bringing together several strands from all the "Nu-Who" series.
Me. Someone who wants to see new major villains in new Doctor Who.
My guess is that reason they don't is because it would be too risky from a ratings point of view.

They'll find some way he can be technically dead without regenerating, and then he'll mysteriously be alive for the finale.
At least I hope he'll be in it, I couldn't stand a finale with Rose & Donna and no Doctor.

He either faked his death, or has died, can't regenerate, but Rose holds the key somehow.

Except they tried that in Season 3. Turned out it was rubbish.

I wouldn't have thought so. Dr Who's become a ratings winner, regardless of whether it's old or new villains.

From Lizo's review at the Beeb;
But even though there's hardly any of The Doctor in the story, the role he plays in helping humanity has never been clearer.

It's as though Hannibal Heyes and Jed Curry never met.
Poor old Jed, poor older Tin Dog Whisperer.
Forget about the Sitophilus, 2 are already down, now it's time for the other 2 to go the same way.
Will Captain Fantastic, Fantastic, Fantastic escape the Potato King?

Cos, Iceberg, London? What's the odd one out? Answer "Cos" - because the other two....
...and did I forget to mention the Big Bad?

Only because they handled it badly. If done properly it would work. I had nothing essentially against the Master, except the way of bringing him back was unconvincing and as good as John Simm was, he didn't seem like the old Master. If he's had the evil eyes it might have worked better.
I was hoping the escape of Caan last series could allow them to hide him away for a series and then return him once he'd rebuilt himself an army. Seems not to be the case for this finale. Hopefully Moffatt can keep the Daleks away for a bit and come up with a different villain to end the series, maybe a new one.
