This episode was one of the best, by far. Possibly because it marked the return of the Dalek creator himself...

Anywho, this Regeneration after the Doctor was shot... Strange? Didn't one of the previous Doctors say that a Dalek's ray could take all of a Time Lord's 13 lives? Never the who...

Major Spoilers about the future episode

Mr. David T is back for the Christmas Special, but i'm sure you guys already know that. Cybermen for Christmas!!!! So I guess his Regeneration halts some how...

Does anyone think he's actually going to regenerate? I'd rather he didn't. As much as I want this season to be Tennant's last, I'd rather he regenerated at the end of the last episode, or at least get a proper goodbye like Eccleston did.

Enjoyed tonight's episode though. Caan was brilliant. As was Donna's Grandad. If he gets killed off I'll kill myself off.

No, he isn't going to regenerate. In an interview, David.T said that he's planning on staying until 2010. After that, he says he'll see. And of course, undeniable spoilers about the next Xmas special, his adventures with River Song (she said he turned up on her doorstep with a new haircut, and knew his face right away, so...) , so no. Plus, his hand in that contained begun to bubble a lot... Maybe that will stop his regeneration, or something? Maybe the Shadow Proclamation, or maybe something to do with the Medusa Cascade...

I thought they did enough to justify Davros' presence. They needed his genetic material to make more Daleks. Could say that's maybe too similar to the Emperor in season 1, but there's also the whole plan, whatever it is, that presumably also requires Davros' genius.
Plus (and I can't believe I'm defending it so!) the Daleks will always want to return en mass. It's their main aim... and so they'll keep trying through various means. The Daleks may be cool, but they're pretty one-dimensional!

I can't remember if I mentioned this before but years ago my brother told me that if the Doctor was hit by a Dalek laser it was impossible for him to regenerate, which was why the Daleks were so dangerous.

Meant great confusion on my part, but I'm glad that the Doctor lives.

What worries me is that my reaction to it all has been very subdued. Shock?

Moylesy, that clip I was talking about was when the Red Dalek first appeared and began the "Daleks are masters of Earth" chant.

Mixed opinion for me about this episode. I'm going to re-watch it tonight on BBC3 and see how I feel about it the second time 'round.

One thing for sure, though, is that the special effects are way better than they used to be. I loved the shot of the Daleks attacking the Valiant.

He won't, but my 4-yr old came up to me today and said "Daddy, I don't want the doctor to change into another doctor"

He also said last night to Mrs H "The Dar-eks won't come and get you, will they Mummy?"

Mrs H wouldn't let me try and give him nightmares by saying "Get to sleep or the Daleks will come through the window"

....and if you noticed too, during the early part so the regeneration sequence, his hand looked like it was going through the process initially too...

I was waiting for Jack to pick up the hand from the container and do something with it (finally)....maybe not....just....yet....could Jack 'replace' the hand to stop the full process? Doh - my mind if fried anyway....I dunno.... silly

I think that the regeneration issue will leave everybody happy, from those that "know" what will happen I have not heard any complaints, quite the opposite in fact.

I really think that the Beeb should have just made 12 and 13 into one episode, the regeneration cliffhanger and the puzzle of what the Daleks need all the planets for just was not enough to make TSE a "complete" episode.

I did, however, love the little references to things that happened in the past (the Daleks trying to steal the Earth before, etc.). Looking forward to the finale, Jenny and K-9 kicking pepperpot butt!!!

Hal's edit: I added HTR there as it seems to be a spoiler wink
