Only a heavily sedated five year old martian could possibly like the drivel. A man in a flying telephone box? Creepy stupid music? Watching my toenails curl would be far more entertaining, kthxbye

Anyone else think that the end of the episode sets up Martha and Mickey, both joining Torchwood?

Well, Martha's appearance last series of Torchwood was a hint at her replacing Owen. Looks like Micky is replacing Toshiko.

I'd be suprised if Micky had the brains to build a Time Lock into the Torchwood base entrance.

Christmas looks good, they haven't milked the Cybermen and because of that I am looking forward to see their return.

Would be nice if they had the proper universe Cybermen instead of the alternate Cybus version, but either way they're good.

Don't think we are ever going to get "real" Cybermen, so to speak, it would be too complicated fitting them in given that they look so much like the Cybus types. I wonder what old enemies they will resurrect for the specials? I would love the Ice Warriors to return.

Well, David Tennant says his favourite villains are the Zygons, so they should have them at some point before he leaves.

I think for the series to survive some good new villains do need to be created, shouldn't rely on old villains to carry the big episodes. Plus it's a sign of good writing if a great new villain can be made that would be good enough & popular enough to bring back in the future.

After all, so far the revival has featured the following previously used villains:

Daleks
Cybermen
Sontarans
The Master
Autons
Macra

I personally wouldn't mind seeing the Sea Devils back again, they can be made better now then they were in the old series.

I thought the finale was highly entertaining, overall.

Pluses:

Davros
More of mad Caan
Exterminieren!
Tate as Tennant
Tennant as Tate (even better)
Tardis towing Earth
K-9 playing his part in saving Earth

Minuses:
Rose could've been left out and there'd have been very little difference. Giving her the happy ending was about all she was there for, and that part of it made the dupe Doctor seem like the fan-ficcy idea it first sounded like and would've been if not for also having the DoctorDonna bits.

Gwen's family tree. Especially the way it was jammed in at the climax of the episode (forgivable if it was someone less irritating than Gwen, maybe tongue )

All the many, many Daleks being quickly destroyed, just like the season one and two finales. In fact, every single Dalek appearance on new Who has ended with virtually none left and requiring some way of new ones being explained next time. But at least Davros (and Caan?) weren't definitely dead.

Sally Sparrow for next companion!

EDIT: Forgot to ask, did I imagine it or on the Saturday credits did it start with Catherine Tate and not have Tennant on at all? The iplayer version does have his name first.
