So here it is, the all-new FF-South! As you can see, it’s somewhat different to all the other FF’s, in the sense that it’s divided into 3 sectors, a South Western sector (Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire and Bristol), a South Eastern sector (Hampshire, West Sussex East Sussex, Surrey, Berkshire and Kent), and a Northern sector (Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex). Why did I divide it up into 3 sectors? Well, because of the immense area that the FF covers basically. It’ll prove that much easier to manage divided up into three sections rather than one big lump. That way we can have 3 sub-FF’s inside one big FF, and all with their own leaders.
I’ve ultimately decided on having a FF-South as a way of giving the FF the best chance of surviving. Even if one area has little or no activity, then at least there’s a good chance that another area will have enough activity and members to keep it alive until further members can be found elsewhere.
Now that brings me nicely to my next point. In order to get as many members as possible and to give the FF as big a chance of survival as possible, I’m going to try to make this a club for people with the same mindset as myself and even Lucas himself. In other words, they'll be into Sci-Fi and films in general just like Lucas is, but of course they'd still have to have an interest in Star Wars in order to be able to join (there can't be any Trekkie geeks who hate Star Wars in it!). Do you get my drift? It'll be a mature minded club who're interested in the genre, whilst keeping away from the geek mentality of only being interested in one particular Sci-Fi.
This FF thread is to be used for posting subjects that have a direct bearing on the FF-South members (plans for meets, local activities, local news and events etc.). It ISN’T to be used as a substitute for the main FFUK board.
1) If there’s an event happening in the FF-South area, then post here.
2) If you’re from the South and want to meet up with and make arrangements with fellow FF-South members then post here.
3) If you’re new and want to join up with the FF-South club, then post here.
4) If there’s local news, then post here.
5) If you have any constructive ideas about how to run and improve the FF-South, then post here.
6) If you want to make plans about the running of the FF-South (new leaders, advertising, new activities etc.), then post here.
7) I’m also hoping to do some brainstorming for the more creative FF-South members, so if you're writing a book, making a play, designing, or doing anything else creative, then just post here and fellow members will try to help you out!
8) Anything else, then post on the main FFUK board.

Now for the Roll Call. This will be a regular event for when new members join. It entails your user name and where you live (county and town or city). I’m first, so here goes. As you must know by now I’m the half mad (but genius!) Evil Otto and I live in Exeter in Devon.

It's only going to be as popular as the effort you're willing to put into the FF. Yes, you heard right, I said EFFORT. And besides, I'm here now and not "Mr Clueless Wonder" Sloan. But once Sloan hopefully returns I hope to have some good news as regards the Bristol area and the whole of the South West Sector in general.

Good, one of my key members has arrived! It looks as if you got my E-mail as I hoped. As my main post said, we are doing brainstorming for any FF-South members who're into any creative activities, so you'll be more than welcome to tell us what you're doing whilst at the same time asking us for advice on any troubles you might be having on things like plot or whatever. So bring your ideas and questions here and we'll have a gander and try to help if possible.

Right now, this is where I point out the EFFORT part of being some of the first members of the club. You are to become scouts for new members. For example, I E-mailed skyscape and told her about the club. Can you do similar things in order to recruit new members? Do you know of anyone from the FF in your area that hasn't joined yet? Do you have a friend who's into Star Wars who isn't a member of the forum yet? Don't forget that in order to join a person doesn't necessarily have to be a fanatic on Star Wars. If you know someone who's into something like Bab 5 or LOTR but also likes Star Wars like me, then ask him/her to join! If they're simply into films and Sci-Fi in general but also happen to like Star Wars, then again ask them to join! Quite simple really. In other words, for a Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Film buff to be able to join they have to actually like Star Wars as well. They don't have to be a "I dress up as Darth Vader" geek. All they have to do is have a passing interest in Star Wars, as in, "I loved The Empire Strikes Back! Great film that!"
Another thing I'll require from each member is just a little time and effort to advertise the FF. You see, advertising's the thing. It could mean the difference between life and death of the FF. So whether it be word of mouth, as in you telling your friends about the FF, or even puting adverts up in the local library , supermarket, SF collector's shop etc. you might just be required to do it. I look at it this way, do you want a successful FF, one that wont flop on its face like the others? Then just a few minutes of your time isn't too much price to pay, is it? After all, I'm going to be doing it, so so should you as a sign of your commitment to the club!

That's great! That now makes 2 members on the Isle of Wight alone that can meet on a regular basis! If you get anymore where you live then you can hold the FF-South up on your own!!! Don't forget that they don't necessarily have to be huge fanatics about Star Wars, just that they have to be fans of the genre (Sci-Fi/Fantasy) and also like Star Wars to join. That's all they need. Your friend and anyone else also need to register on this thread in order to join officially too.

Thanks Burt. All this would have happened a couple of months back if it wasn't for my ban though. And yes, I do have further plans for the FF, but some of it all depends on the other members like Sloan whether they happen or not.
FF-SOUTH NEWS BULLETIN
After her seeming boundless enthusiasm for tthe FF-South Chapter and her regular postings on FFUK, I've decided to make lukesgirlie the head honcho of the Northern Sector! That means she'll have to arrange everything in her sector, along with being chief scout for her sector's new members. My first question for your new commission is have you got a computer printer?

Yes, I do have a printer. Its not working right now, but it will be in a week or so. I'm in Bedford pretty much every day during term time so I can do quite a lot aound that area. I also have friends who the surrounding area who I'm sure I could persuade into helping out, if not joining. I'll get PMing averyone i know from this area then

That's the sort of response I was expecting and hoping for. Don't forget though that you are in charge of the entire Northern Sector (in red on the map), but your local area is a good place to target most of your activities. Once we get members from all around the Northern Sector, then it'll be up to you to get them looking for further members in their local areas. Do you think you're up to it? Do you think you're up to doing what I'm doing now, instructing other members in recruiting further members in the Northern Sector area?
The reason why I wanted to know about your printer is because you'll need to print a few ads out on it. Is it a colour printer by chance? It'd be preferable if it is, because the ads will be in colour once they're designed. Your first main activity, I'd say, is to make plans with your local FF-South members to meet at that do in Milton Keynes via this thread. And it's there where you'll arrange to get a picture taken with them (ONLY with members from the FF-South area mind!). That'll set us on our way to making our very own FF-South board all of our own!
