Hey all,
Well, the new website continues to be prepared, and as part of that we are looking for input from you, the FF-UK, on content.
We have fan art and fan fiction sections, so please feel free to contact myself on ffukrsa@gmail.com or stormtrooper_fan on stormtrooper.fan@gmail.com with your submissions.
We're also looking for funnies, jokes etc (keep them clean, we are a family friendly group after all) and good images for the caption competition page. I'm going to start a caption competition on the site and each month the winner will received the title for 1 week of "FF-UK Caption Champ"
Also, we'd like to know what else you would want to see on the site. We have a gallery going up, so please submit your pictures for putting up there  , and we are dedicating areas specifically to the individual chapters, so please let me know what you want available in there.
We're also considering putting up a moderated chat area, where you can chat live at certain times of the day. Would you be interested in something like this.
We're also thinking of putting up some costuming hints, tips, tutorials etc.
Most of all, tell us what you want on there.

OK, look, basically we are now in a position to build the site that we want.
However, without content and input from everyone, it's gonna be pretty boring and pretty empty.
We need you input on these, people. Not just rough ideas, but actual content.
Dave, you talk about a collectors area. What do you mean? Details, details, details. It's all in the details. I have no idea what you mean when you say a collectors area.
What about regular new release Film reviews? What about book reviews, or music? We'd be looking to you, the users of the site, to submit these for putting up on the site. Don't worry too much about spelling and grammer, because we'll re-format everything before putting it up anyway.
Are there any Frequently Asked Questions you'd like on the site for easy reference?
Hal, fan films, great idea. What kind of hosting would you be looking for on it though? Just a mirror from your own site, or more, some BTS stuff, a note from the director, kinda like TFN has now, but just for FF-UK film makers.
I had hoped that this thread would blossom into a discussion of what people want from the website. We see posts on a recurring basis about where the website is for a chapter, and when we offer it, no one seems to want to say anything.
And coming on to that. We want to give each Chapter it's own area within the website. What would you like to use it for, what would you like it to do for you? How would you like it to interface with the new forums, new chat area, new blogs, gallery etc, etc.

Why don't you designate certain forum members to be reposible for formatting (every week or so) the content of a films/music/books sections. Any FFUK member can mail in reviews, comments etc to the designated member responsible for that section and they can format it into a readable dialog. Just a thought if you were going to go down the films/music/books section road.

I'd happily hand off that work to another member of the forum if they were willing to volunteer, and that is what we would like to do, but it's pointless pushing someone into that kind of position if no one is interested in submitting those kind of things.
That's kind of the whole point of this thread. I'm just throwing ideas out there, but I want to know what YOU, the forum members, want to see.

That's what I'm here for as Webmistress... seriously MAIL ME STUFF!!
I can't make a website without content... everyone keeps asking when it's going to be finished and how good an idea it is but no one actually bothers to send anything to put on it!
Phill and myself are working hard on ideas and getting together a brilliant site but without you guys there's only so much we can do...

I take it you can have a fun/humour section with vids, pictures, miscellaneous internet dross? If so I'm sure I (and many other) can dig out plenty of garb to fill this section (seriously).
Is there a site work-in-progress to have a gander at?

Possibility of an area that shows the regional chapters, CR's of them and who's in them.
Blog spots for those who want to add a weblog for all to see.
A chatroom area (we run the risk of diluting posting on here with this but not everyone like chatrooms) either that or something similar to teamspeak so we can all physically chat using the net, speakers and microphone (Technology at work)
Book reviews I think should be a definate. We can submit a book review or even add one on as a forum entry and then discuss it (Bookgroup stylee) and it could cover any style of book.

Already going to be implamented on the website

There are plans afoot to incorporate our own messageboard and there WILL be a live chat room and a possibility of blogs for users but this is in it's infancy now, give myself and Phill time to get to grips with the ins and outs of all this, no used opening a half assed board / chatroom that's incomplete and keeps changing constantly.
Please note - I am putting the website back under complete wraps for now because I want to work on it in peace without people going constantly asking when whatever page is going to be finished etc
