Rambles, Yes the quality is average and the left hand eight and lower eigth of the screen are missing but it's enough for me to watch until I go and watch it properly in a week or so.

My official review now I've had time to digest and think about it.
despite the fact that the version i saw had pixillation issues, hadthe live 1/8th and bottom 1/8th of the screen trimmed it was an adequate enough picture to see the film and get full enjoyment out of it. (The cameraman at the cinema needs to be sacked though  )
All spoilery parts of the movie will be HTR the general breakdown for review purposes will be open for view.
Part one. Lead up to Autobot arrival.
Primarily introduces us to the human dynamic. It provides the background on Spike Witwicky and why he's important and introduces us to Bumblebee. It also brings in the Desert battle and introduces the Deceptacons to the US government.
The Bumblebee/Barricade (I think) chase/fight is brilliant
All in all a good opening act that introduces the main human characters really well.
Part Two. Autobot arrival, the AllSpark and Megatron
The arrival of the Autobots is just awesome and well worth a repeat viewing. All in all only Bumblebee and Prime get fleshed out as characters, which is a shame and Primes/Ratchets lips are just nonos' (unforgivable).
Here we get introduced to the shady govenment agency that is on the hunt for the Transformers after the disaster at Qatar and they endup capturing Bumblebee and taking him away. Bumblebee has really expressive eyes and you do feel sorry for him at times We start to find out more about the allspark and we now get the exposition on the Deceptacons and Megatron.
All the human characters who have been captured are taken to where Megatron is, and also locate the Allspark. Megatron obviously escapes and all hell breaks loose from here on in
All told nothing too spoilery happens up until the final third but I'm trying to be a bit vague even in the HTR sections as I don't want to completely ruin a movie even if you want to be spoiled.
Act 3 The final confrontation with Megatron
The Autobots, Spike, Michaela and some marines head towards the nearest city thinking that the Deceptacons will hold back due to the built up area.
OOPS!
VVV Details of the final battles below, VERY spoilery VVV
Prime gets attacked en route on the freeway and after one cracking fight kills off the first Deceptacon with a "SHO-RYU-KEN" dragon punch and then an energy sword up through the head (ala Paul killing Feyd in Dune) this fight although short is excellent. The rest of the group hole up in the centre of the city and call in backup for extraction so they can get the allspark away.
Oh Dear
All Deceptecons home in on their position and Brawl/Devestator (I don't know which due to cropping of the picture) opens fire and takes Bumblebee out of the action (very touching scene here and his expressive eyes again!!!) the remaining Autobot and marines open fire on the marauding Deceptacons while Starscream stars dominating the skies. Sam gets sent off with the allspark to get to the upper skyline so he can be choppered away to safety Ratchet and Ironhide accompany him part way with some very acrobatic duck roll and cover moves and Michaela hooks Bumblebee up and takes him out of the dangerzone.
Jazz decides to take on Megatron
Big Mistake, it's akin to a midget taking on Hagrid but Hagrid has a mean streak a mile wide and the midgets only packing a pea shooter.
Megs slams him onto the room of a building and stamps on him.
Jazz Muffled "You wanta piece of me?"
Megs "I'll take two" and he does ripping Jazz in half and dropping him over the side of the building
Prime finally returns
Megatron chases Sam. Literaly through and up the building
Starscream prevents Sams escape and Megs start to bang in threats and then forces sam off the room of the building.
The Marines and Autobots start taking out the remaining Deceptacons and Prime goes to town on Megs.
I'm not going to go into details as to how it ends suffice to say it has closure AND provides hope for a solid future movie
All told the final third is immense BUT, due to sloppy camera work and Bays penchant for as much action as possible means it does get a little confusing at times.
Jazz's deathn while dramatic doesn't really have too much of an impact because no Autobot outside of Prime and Bumblebee is really explored
Megatrons design is utter crap BUT regardless of that he is outstandingly cruel in the film, to the extent of falling off a building with Prime and when he hits the floor he flicks a woman out of the way going "uggh"
I really enjoyed this movie and can't wait to see it in the cinema with a proper camera man.
9/10, let down by a badly designed Megatron and an overly cluttered second half.
Brilliant. Harry Potter will have to go some to beat this for me.

3 weeks is a while to wait but it will be worth it to experience the film in a cinema rather than crap quality on a little PC screen lol

I couldn't see the subtitles which are on there for certain parts and apparently they messed up a bit of editing and he's also refered to as Brawl apparently.
The autobot arrival scene is superb as well, and as you all know music can create a scene, well the music here is just perfect and goosebump creating.
Crappy PC screne or no, this movie rocks and I'll be first in line at the cinema in three weeks to get the full effect.

Devastator has to be Transformer Combiner or they have ruined it
Not too happy with that and whats bugging me even more is no Soundwave, he would have been awesome.
but its the first movie they are robots
lets hope they change things in the second movie

I don't want to know any spoilers, but is there a shot in the film, during the fight in the city, where a motorcycle flies towards the camera? My friend was on the set that day and wants to know if the shot made it into the film.

I'm under the impression that Transformers hasn't opened yet in the UK?
I went and saw it today, after a bit of persuading from members on the WA forum, and someone at work. I got two free movie passes (to see whatever movie I wanted) from work, with the proviso that I saw Transformers with one of them. Admittedly,m I wasn't going to see the movie, but I'm glad I did. It was excellent. It brought back memoreis as a kid watching the cartoons. I had forgotten a lot of the characters names, but as they were introduced, I was thinking "Oh yeah. I remember that!".
Definett;y one for everyone to see.
I'm also glad an Aussie is in it too!
