Thanks for changing the thread title Hal.
That "Teaser Trailer" bit was starting to annoy me.

I should catch a glimpse of it tomorrow.
But I won't be watching it for a couple of weeks.

I'm taking my Nephew to a showing tomorrow at 2pm I'm really glad there's advanced showings because I would have hated to have to choose between Transformers or The Simpsons so it's a relief and I'm looking forward to a lot I'm ready to be really entertained.

I saw it this afternoon and I thought it was great. Sure, there are a few mildly annoying moments with the kid, his friends and family and stuff, but the main part of the movie is filled with exactly what any fan of Transformers wanted from a film adaptation... Autobots and Decepticons knocking the nuts and bolts out of eachother in epic battle! They've stayed fairly close to the classic and established characterizations/personalities of the various iconic Transformers, too.
Best film of the year? Yes. So far.

This movie was such a disappointment. I had read a couple of good reviews, and spoken to people who'd seen it in the US and thought it was good. It really, really isn't.
The opening 15 minutes are great, but the movie then stalls for the next hour and really doesn't grasp the audience from the powerful opening sequence. However, the last 30minutes do partially save the movie, and had we had that for the entire movie it would have been a real winner for me.
The plot has huge holes in it (I realise we're talking about transforming robots from outerspace, but the movie plot has some fundamental flaws that were extremely annoying and really distracted from the movie itself)
It promised a lot and honestly didn't deliver in the slightest, with the exception of the fight sequences towards the end of the movie.

There were a few flaws, errors and ommissions in the movie and I'll post them in more detail as and when I get the chance later.
Other than that though I went in expecting a largely brain not needed movie and got what I wanted. I thought it was great and can't wait for the sequel (I also hope the DVD comes with LOADS of extras)

The plot hole I can't work out (if it is one) - how did Optimus, or the other Decepticons for that matter, know what happened when explorer Witwicky found Megatron? I can see how they worked out that Megatron must've burned some info. into his brain to make him go mad, but from just that they knew it was navigational data and was stored in the glasses?
Actually, writing it out like that I suppose they knew he was wearing glasses and that the beam must've passed through them, but it still seems like a stretch.

Saw the movie last night at the local Cineworld.
Sat and grinned like a loon at 95% of it.
I didn't go there for the plot validity or smooth dialogue (just as well ) so I wasn't disappointed there.
And yeah, I had a tear or two of joy in my eye at the arrival of the Autobots sequence

Spoilers below
Gutted they killed off Jazz. My fave character. Just hope they find someone able to put him back together again
for the sequal. I mean, he's only a robot at the end of the day. Did they try reseting him??
All in all a really fun, great, funny and enjoyable movie. Exactly what I was hoping for.
My only quibbles are that all of the Decepticon voices sounded alike and that Starscream only had 2 lines and no character development what so ever, save for a mild telling
off from Megatron.
Can't wait to see the sequal. Bring on Soundwave!!!!!!!!!!
And Grimlock.
Going to see it again on Wednesday night, really looking forward to it.

I've only seen patches of it so far, but I thought I saw Soundwave in it.
He's the one who turns into a tape player right?
I thought I saw a transformer doing that, maybe I wasn't paying enough attention.
I'll have a proper look when I watch it fully.

In the novelisation Megatron ripped out Jazz's spark and killed him that way. In the movie he's snapped in half and it's kind of implied that his spark is destroyed but there are rumours that Optimus will use the fragment of allspark left to revitalise Jazz and he'll return in his original blue stripes on white shell colours.

Regarding the Allspark particle.
YEAH!!!!!!!! Fantastic. You just made my day dude!!
I'll have to check out the book version. To be honest, I didn't really know there was one.
So Jazz might live after all? Now that you mention it, Prime pulling part of the Allspark out of Megatron's chest did seem somewhat random.
I just assumed it was some kind of setup for the sequel. Just hope that if they do bring him back, they make him a bit bigger,I
mean the guy was Prime's right hand man and even Bumble Bee (traditionally the smallest Autobot) was way bigger than him.
If Porsche won't let them use their car, then perhaps he could come back as a nice Aston Martin DB9 or something?
A car with a bit more meat on its bones as it were.
Wasn't too crazy about Frenzy to be honest. Was a bit JarJar at times, but his screen time was limited, so it really didn't distract that much from the main movie.
