It was funny, and you felt for the lady, wanting to lead a life that wasn't real.
I never really notice the dodgy camerawork or editing, I'm too busy watching the show.
IMO it was much better then last week's episode.

With some of the comments people are making it makes me wonder if we're watching the same show.
Good show, not enough snoggery though.

I loved the first episode. The little old lady was so funny in the begining. And James's entrance was brilliant James and John had such great chemistry, and James brought lots of what I loved about Spike into being Captian John. I really liked their relationship but I did think the flirting with everyone was a bit over the top and kind of took away from the drama of Gwen/Jack and Jack/John. I think that Torchwood should be able to show both kinds of relationships on television, it's nice to see other kinds of relationships other then het couples on television.
The second episode was a little lacking, I did feel bad for the lady who wanted a normal life, and I admire her wanting to go out the way she did. Overall it was good but not brilliant

It has flashes of inspiration, but I do think the wirting staff need an overhaul. They're starting to become a bit repetitive.

Wednesday's was good because it wasn't a rampant Davies episode.

Agreed, twas a big improvement.
The emotion was there and some of the cast were able to show that they actually have acting ability.

I found it pointless and added nothing to the overall story line, I felt it was just inserted for the hell of adding in a little gay moment.
I have no objections to them getting together but creating a scene like that just for the hell of it is a completely pointless exercise IMO and was unneeded.
That scene could have been put in another episode where one or the other was off to do something daring that they may not return from.
