Well, yeah I know, it is basically the worst kept secret in Hollywood. And incidently I know a few people who disputed Palpatine being Sidious.

I never said that. I just don't think people should go overboard just because it's Indy. Being an Indiana Jones film does not automatically make it good, neither do lots of stunts and big effects (which the trailer had).
Sequels are rarely as good, especially ones made many years after the last with the same ageing actor (Rocky Balboa was laughable, I expect Rambo will be equally unconvincing).
I have faith in Spielberg (not so much in Lucas these days, but he's a good storyteller) and I'm sure the fact they took ages over the script means it will work. But I will not be fully convinced until I see another trailer or the film itself.
And if aliens turn up at the end I may very well throw things at the screen.

Shia's alright!
He's certainly alright for this sort of gig. While there's potential for a hammy actor to ruin it, I thought he was good enough in Transformers and Disturbia to carry his role in Indy. Now, a spin-off series... I'll reserve judgement on that...

A skull made of crystal does not mean Aliens, but Roswell does.
I've nothing against the plot focusing on some kind of alien artifcats that one of the ancient civilisations worshipped. Maybe the Soviets want it's power.
That's all well and good, but if the aliens actually turn up to reclaim their item or just to vanquish Indy's enemies I'll be highly disappointed.
And I thought Indy was supposed to find and protect things relating to the divine (aka God). That was different and original to Speilberg's other stuff, Aliens is not.
