Man this xbox live setup is turning into one looooong comedic tradgedy, that isnt funny.

Got my dsl splitter today. Fine, great, should be able to have the aol and the router run together. BUT NOOOOOO! The two boxes are competing for the net connection. The router tries to connect, but aol throws a hissy fit and just steals all the connection!

ARRRGHH!!! Will this ever end?!?!?! I tried sharing the aol connection, but it still wont let the router connect.

Seriously, if my ethernet card comes and this thing still wont work, there will be a live subscription and some networking stuff for sale, I am going to give up soon. This has cost me lots of time and money and just rewards me with ****!!!

DewbackRider88: you're doing it wrong. What you want is one modem going to the internet, then you attach a router/hub/switch to this.

eg:

computer <-- hub <- modem <- internet
x-box <---/

What you're trying to is get the two modems to connect to the internet at the same time through the same line. It's kinda like how you couldn't use the phone when you were connected through dial-up.

This is assuming you've not got a USB modem. In which case you should just take out modem and you the router to connect to the internet. All good routers have built in firewalls now.

I'd try and help more but I don't know what hardware you've got.

Edit: I found this, thought it might help.

Picked the the Halo 3 soundtrack yesterday. It has a nice mix of different types of music. If you enjoy the Halo games then I'd recommend this music.

I was playing it around at my mates house the other day - extremely graphically impressive, and a reasonably simple control mechanism. Didn't play if for long enough to say how good the game play was, but the environments are huge with lots of interactive elements.

It does indeed. Been playing Super Mario Galaxy for the past two weeks and it just gets better and better and I believe it will continue to get better in years to come. Initially it takes a wee while to get used to the Galaxy concept but once you do it really comes into its own. The game is so finely tuned it makes it such a joy to play and the innovation incased with-in the game is immense, and done so in really nice bite-sized chunks making it very easy to digest and master.
The motion sensors work very well too, and if you have a surround-sound system then you should definitely hook it up to it because it takes the experience up a whole new level (incredible soundtrack too).

10/10 easily. Game of the year and decade!

WHat difficulty setting are you playing it at?

I did it on Normal, and found it easy. Now I'm gonna start Heroic.

Just go with it on legendary, not much difference between the two

Besides If you get stuck on campaign just give me a message and I'd be glad to help out
