I'm starting to get the feeling that Batman is in danger of being upstaged by the Joker again, as he was in the first Tim Burton movie. The footage we've gotten of the Joker seriously outweighs all the footage of Batman.

I don't want Nolan's films to go the way of the recent Spiderman movies, with too much love for the villains and not enough for the hero.

Yes, that's always a danger when you have unique, interesting and iconic villains in a film... particularly comic book adaptations.
But hopefully they'll get the balance just right in TDK.

Bad guys are usually way cooler then the heroes anyway, Star Wars is a prime example of that.

But I'm not so sure the Spidey films have done that.

The Goblin was rather weak in part 1, mainly because his look wasn't great.
Doc Ock was great, but Spidey was way better and cooler then him.
Venom, as in the comics, is way better then Spidey, but in the film he wasn't great either. The Sandman was a 3rd rate villain and should never have been used, even though he looked really good.

This Batman trailer looks good, but The Joker to me doesn't seem as humourous as he should. He doesn't look very happy, which I thought was part fo his character. Even in the comics, which are far darker then the films, The Joker almost always smiled.

And yes, Jack Nicholson's Joker did outdo Batman in the original, but that's mainly because Nicholson is a far better actor then Michael Keaton.

Bloomin' heathen. Bet you like that filthy Commie Superman?

Heath Ledger appears to be a much better Joker than Nicholson already (who I thought was an appalling Joker, it was just Jack Torrence from The Shining in clown make-up), he's got an amazing cackle which Nicholson didn't have as well.

He certainly appears to have the darkness from the comics, which other Joker versions have never really had.

But it's the frikkin' BATMAN! Easily the best of the comic book heroes.

A good guy who dresses like a badguy, that is how it should be done.

Better then a guy who wears his underpants over his skintight blue suit worried

It took me a few watches to fully appreciate the trailer, but now that I have, it's GREAT!! grin
Some lovely shots, especially of Batman/Bruce in the empty high-rise apartment. And needless to say looks like the Joker is on the money. At last I hope people will begin to realise that Jack Nicolson's Joker wasn't all that. Still not convinced by the Bat-pod, but it did show some promise in some shots.
Will be nice to see the trailer on the big screen too.

Meanwhile....the BFI IMAX will be showing the Joker prologue before I Am Legend, which will be screening from January the 25th. I'm tempted, very tempted indeed.
