Season 1 has a slow start, it's character and story building.
The problem is now that characters are more establised, all the character building isn't really all that required, especially as most of the characters aren't actually any good. I call it Nikki and Paulo syndrome (if you watch Lost, you'll know what this means).

But this series has introduced new characters.
I agree it shouldn't be needed for most of the established guys like Parkman, Claire etc.
Claire is in school trying to hide her ability and confide in one person - Just like in series 1
Mr Bennett has a pretend job as is secretly involved in something else - Just like in series 1
Parkman is a police officer who uses his power to be better - Just like in series 1
Ok Parkman has been promoted, but he's being much the same as he was.

Unfortunately, with the exception of Kensei, all the new characters are rubbish, hence my reference to Nikki and Paulo from Lost.

Kensei has a cool power, but he's starting to get rather annoying. His accent his very put on and OTT. He's a less funny version of series 1 Ando.
The flying boy is a pain also, what does Claire see in him? (apart from flight ability that is).

See, now David Anders (Kensei) actually speaks like a natural Englishman so his accent is no problem. In fact, his character is by far and away the best character on the show, behind Nathan and Noah. I do agree about West though, he annoyed me from day one.

Intersting development in the last episode.
Clearly this Adam/Kensei guy is some all powerful dude (not sure exactly how yet since we've only seen him heal).
Perhaps he simply has every possibly ability naturally, unlike Peter who absorbs them.
I do wish they'd explain the limits on abilities. If someone is blown up then how exactly do they regenerate when their brain is destroyed?
Kensei himself siad to Hiro "kill me, cut off my haed", indicating that would be sufficient (as established in season 1, block function of or damage brain and you stay dead). Yet he's destroyed in a mass explosion like Peter was and he healed himself 
HRG seems to have gone back to his old ways again, which is OK but he gets a lot of stick even though he's doing what he thinks is best for everyone.
Looks like it's building to an interesting climax.

Peter didn't technically explode, he radiated the energy out of himself like Ted did (when he used his power, his hands didn't explode, the energy was projected). As for Kensei it's unlikely he was completely blown up, more than likely he was a little crispy but not totally destroyed.

Also, if it turns out that Adam has many abilities then it could be a problem if he is swiftly dealt with, even in series 3. If all villains who come after Adam are weaker then they'll be defeated more easily so it won't be as interesting.
Don't want a Buffy effect (brought her back after she'd died fighting a demi-god, all villains after that were ordinary by comparison, so not really a threat and so the remaining series seemed pointless) for Heroes.
I am certainly curious about what power Angela Petrelli has.
So far of the 12 that formed a group that we know:
Mr Linderman - Could heal living things
Maury Parkman - Mind manipulation
Bob Bishop- Turns objects into gold
Charles Devaux - Unspecified (although he did appear in a vision for Peter so maybe that is his ability)
Kaito Nakamura - Unknown power
Angela Petrelli - Unknown power
Mr Petrelli - Unknown power
There were others not yet mentioned or seen, assuming they are dead. Some were mentioned as dead by Matt Parkman I think, not sure how many that leaves alive.

I'm not entirely sure Bob's power is solely turning objects to gold. I mean, it's a pretty lame power really. Sure, you can get mightily rich but that's about it. I think it's more like matter manipulation which is much cooler.

It might be more, but having someone with a Midas touch would've made it easier for the group to get funding to set up the company.
Perhaps it's how Linderman got so powerful also.

True, but gold prices vary depending on how much of it there is about. Massive influx of gold = lower value. 'Sall about rarity innit.
