Watched I Am Legend on DVD last night but the alternate ending version which I thought was much better than the theatrical release. Although still schmaltzy it was a bit truer to the feeling of the book in terms of Neville realising that perhaps he is the "monster" and not the Darkseekers in the new world!

Still haven't changed my view that it's an awesome movie!

I'm looking forward to seeing the alt ending for I Am Legend. Hope to get round to seeing it this week.

Superbad was released September last year (2007) so would indeed qualify as a possible 'film of the year 2007'!

I didn't really find Superbad all that funny. The only bits where I was laughing were anything involving those cops and/or Fogel.

TO be honest, I found it far more poignant than just a comedy. There has always seemed to be a particular notion with Americans, College and leaving home. I did an assignment on it last year and since then have found the idea totally engaging. Tons of writing on the idea. There's been so many good films produced through this too, like 'Rebel without a cause' and 'American Graffiti' (which is an incredible film - voted one of Americas most important films too happy ). I understand that this tradition still continues in the form of "Shes all that" and "American Pie" but they don't particularly seem nothing but crude and simple. I thought "Superbad" was written by someone who totally understood the importance of this sub genre of movies and thought it was fantastic - IMO it was something way, way more than just being funny (which i thought it was to-boot). It was very similar in format to 'Graffiti' and was wowed when I found out it was written by Apatow and Rogen when they were 13/14

edit: I found the Cops humour a little bizzare when judging the types of jokes that were played in every scene until they showed up. Saying that, I thought Fogel's story of the night was important, in a way.

It's certainly a good film, but is ultimately failed to make me laugh as much as it could and should have. Michael Cera is going to be one hell of an actor as he matures though. He was awesome in Juno as well.

Agreed, even if Juno was rather bland.

I loved Juno! It was such a welcome, heart-warming story and I recommend it to anyone and everyone. Plus, if you're male or a lesbian it has the insanely hot Ellen Page love

I quite agree. I thought it waws going to be a straight comedy but it was a story that was funny. I don't feel they sacrificed the plot for the sake of a few more cheap laughs. Top film.

Juno is great too. I love the dad. (and Ellen Page)

Cera seemed to play quite similar roles in Juno and Superbad though I agree he's an exciting prospect
