Yes. She told him about suicide bombers that "hadn't been born yet going out to blow themselves up"

The show rocks. Alex seems to be on the booze more than Sam, but then she believes this is her subconcious, while Sam wasn't sure.

Another great episode 2nite. I almost when I thought Shazz was dead.

Was a tad predictable. I knew as soon as she joined the group when the shootout began that it would be her, they were never likely to kill one of the main characters.

Well, she survived anyway, so it could've been anyone.

Same, I was like "don't die Shaz, you're one of the best things in this show" because, y'know, she is.
Aparently we find out who the clown is next week. I know I'm just talking garbage here, but imagine if the clown was Sam Tyler. Well it IS his "construct".

So uh... Gene Hunt turned up in the real world, then?

It's just her mind messing with her. What happened would not affect reality since Gene isn't real.
Events just happened to play out almost exactly like they did in her actual life.

This thing with Gene is definitely going to go somewhere next series.
Though, one thing stood out for me. Gene's lines, "You were in need, and I was there" (or something thereabouts.) Sounds very "goddish".
Theory, Gene Hunt is "God"

I was wondering how long it was going to take before somebody said that.
I'm not dissing you for theorizing it, but personally I don't see the need for painting Gene Hunt with that brush. They do it enough with the Doctor. It doesn't offend or anything, I just think it's slightly lazy in terms of story telling.
Having Gene as being more of a guardian figure who is really flawed, that to me is a bit more interesting. I loved it when he took care of young Alex.
But the series as a whole really redeemed itself to me last night. I've complained a lot about Alex Drake's character, but she really had her moments in this episode, all the cast did. Another thing I loved was that I didn't see the end coming. I thought Evan killed her parents. Very satisfying to be kwpt guessing.
The only tv where I like knowing the ending before it's revealed is mystery dramas like Midsomer Murders. There's a slight smug satisfaction there with knowing who did it before the coppers catch on.

But she had a memory (from real life) of someone bringing her away from the wreckage. She didn't know who it was.

Of course, Gene himself isn't aware of his possible 'greater role'. Those lines only come out of his role as a cop.
I agree that 'god' would be very lazy. I hope their resolution is something more defined.
They should either present a definite explanation of Gene Hunt, or never approach it as an issue at all (have Gene drop the occasional intriguing line, but leave the rest to interpretation). A half-way house scenario would be terrible.

I thought in her memory it was Evan who brings her away.
