I will certainly admit that we don't appear to be as high as I thought we would be. But I also think we're higher than people would think we are, being a civilised country and all.

Seems to me to be mostly Brits guilty of knife crimes, not immigrants
"Eastern bloc mafia" = organised crime from the former soviet bloc countries, some are immigrants some are (bogus) asylum seekers.
And as for opinions.....

Yes, those are opinions.
More people = more crime, of course it does. But it is still "opinion" to say that immigrants are the cause of crime increase
And you said "especially those from a culture where carrying knives is a way of life", but it is British people commiting knife crimes, not immigrants. How can that be blamed on immigrants?

Peterboroughs head of police;
Chief Superintendent Phillipson said areas of crime which had grown since the influx began included drink-driving and carrying knives, because both were considered more socially acceptable in workers' home countries than in Britain.
Of course British people are involved in acts of violence involving knives, but that was not my point. A lot of the crimes actually don't affect the indigenous population either (except through our taxes) but are as a result of in-fighting between various groups of immigrants.
