Annandale Fall Festival Parade and Air & Scare, Sat 10/27/07

Garrison Tyranus would like to invite you to participate in two Star Wars events that are taking place on Saturday, 10/27/07.
The Annandale Fall Festival Parade is Saturday, October 27 (the morning of Air & Scare) and runs from 10 AM - noon. You are welcome to march in the parade in either a Star Wars t-shirt (we can always use help throwing candy to the kids) or in a Star Wars costume.
Please plan on being at the parade site by 9 AM, which is the muster time for the event. In addition, if you need a place to change before the parade, please let me know and you are welcome to change at my house-be advised we will need to leave by 8:45 AM in order to make it to the parade site on time, so allow plenty of time to get there early and change. I can drive a carpool in my mini-van for anyone who wants to meet at my house (if there are many people, we may need to drive other vehicles as well). Please send me an e-mail or PM if you'd like to meet at my house, and I can send you directions.
The parade is located on Columbia Pike in Annandale, and starts at the United Methodist Church near the intersection with Gallows Road. If you park at the beginning of the parade, you can park in the nearby Giant Food parking lot or the Annandale Shopping Center parking lot on Gallows Road, or in the KMart parking lot on John Marr Drive. You can park at the Safeway parking lot on Little River Turnpike if you want to park at the end of the parade (note that it is around a mile to the muster site- please allow plenty of time to walk if you park at the Safeway).
Marchers in the parade throw candy to the kids along the parade route- any donations of candy would be appreciated.
We are also participating in Air & Scare at the Steven Udvar-Hazy National Air & Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution on 10/27 from 4 PM-8 PM. We ask that participants in this event wear a high-quality Star Wars costume, since it's a troop for the Smithsonian. If you are interested in participating but don't have a costume, please let me know since we could use some "wranglers" in Star Wars t-shirts to help the costumed participants (we were mobbed with kids last year!). I don't have a definite arrival time yet, but please plan to be there by 3:00-3:30 depending on whether you need time to change at the site.
