That's a debatable issue. Basically, the general code of conduct is you are a noobie to anyone older then you. There isn't any real set standard for the name, so it's up to everyone to form their own opinion. I would like to just give the term noob a definate definition, but it's not really possible. It's like the word "Fact." everyone has their own opinion on what a fact is, on how you know something is a fact. The term will always be used on people younger then you is all that most people can agree with.

Well I don't think it should be considered by age, I think it should be considered how long someone has been around

Nah, I think age works too. Mertroid is only afraid because of the fact that she'd still be considered a Newbie by memebers here  .

Myself and a group of others had decided on this being the correct format for how long your a n00b:
'98 - ancient
'99, '00, early 01 - oldbie
Late '01, '02 - midbie
'03, '04 - n00b.
So pretty much two years, and then you're a midbie

Eh, makes sense . So, technically speaking, within a few more years, those of us whom registered in '02 will soon be seen as Oldbies, and those of '00 & '01, will be called "Ancient"!

I personally do not think of myself as a newbie, especially as I am about to be elgible to adopt.
Plus the "real" oldbies have crossed paths with me enough times that I am anything but new to them!

Joking aside, I don't really consider myself a newbie. (Well I could be called new, but not a newbie. I've been reading these boards for ages ) I like to think of myself as a midbie.
