I wish I could blow something up. One of the down sides of being homeschooled is not being able to do some of the stuff publicschoolers get to do. Like dissections, and blowing things up.

I know what you mean, Gunny. Two years ago we had a reaction with cancer-causing reagents go bad. Fortunately, it didn't get on me or my lab partner, but it made a mess and gave us quite a scare.
MM, If you study science in college you can do those things. Or you could do them on your own - try mixing diet coke and mentos.

Ew, I hated dissecting things in Bio.
Blowing up things was slightly more fun.
And MM- try smashing rock candy with pliers in the dark (make sure you do it in a safe container).

At my high school, we didn't have to worry about the kids blowing stuff up. The teachers did just fine without us. My chem teacher coated the inside of a five-gallon drum with ethyl alcohol and attempted to show us how she could light the inside of the container. Epic fail. She nearly lit the ceiling on fire and killed us all when the explosion rocked the room.
