	JC World Atlas Circa MMVIII It has once again come to that time of year when Cobra gets to make his famous map. It’s also a time when people wonder what new stuff will be put in it. Unfortunately, the answer is not much, because I’m lazy. Thus, read on, and begin your adventure into the realm of the JC! Avoid trolls, apprentice yourself to a worthy master, learn posting skills, level up, and complete existence! (As you can see, I’ve been playing too many games). Anyway, I shall once again thank dArTh_wenley for the first of these, Jedi_Washington, for the second, myself, for the 3rd, 4th, 5th and now 6th of these, Jedi_Daniel, for graciously allowing me to post these every year, and all the oldbies who keep linking to it. dArTh_wenley’s Map Jedi_Washington’s Map Cobranaconda’s First Map Cobranaconda’s Second Map Cobranaconda’s Third Map Cobranaconda's Fourth Map And now, onto the map: Welcome Welcome New Users The introduction, the start, the beginning, the inception, the birth, the onset of a mighty and wonderful JC career! (Yes, I did just use as many words as possible to say “start”. I’m weird). So, this is where you start. Just like at the beginning of every game, this is how you get going, figure out the controls, learn a few moves, find someone to train you in the old ways, and generally act funny. There are loads of social threads and things and wonderful places in the WNU, and they’re all nicely detailed in the Index, but I’ll give you better directions, so bear with me. The Newbie Welcome Party – What newbies do to pass the time. The Hug Thread – For hugging (obviously). Getting To Know You – Random ask question/get answer game! The Pillow Fight – For hitting people. With pillows. Teh Mole Game – The WNU’s long running and popular game. Practice Markup Codes – Test out your markups. If these don’t work, you’ll be laughed at, so level up specifically in this area. Newbie Adoptions – This is the bit where you get yourself a master. They won’t ask you to do anything weird, usually, but they will impress the general idea of the JC onto you, and may impart some tips as to how you can overthrow the almighty rhonderoo and become the Overlord of the JC!!! [/kidding] It’s currently run by the brilliant Skiara, she’ll hook the newbies up with a master, and the oldbies up with an apprentice. Usually, the oldbies are more timid than the newbies, so newbies, PMing an oldbie might be a good idea… Jedi_Daniel is the WNU’s moderator. He is currently above level 70, and is able to utterly annihilate trolls, flamers and spammers with only ONE HIT!!! Beware his banstick. Star Wars Films and Lucasfilm Projects Classic Trilogy This is where you can wipe the dust off your old Original Trilogy VHS’/DVDs, watch them, and discuss them. Look back into the past and realise how awesome they were, and how awesome they made your childhood. There are many threads in here, so here is the Index, that will help you find any thread you wish, and help prevent any redundancy. Also, watch out for Senny. He’s too pretty, and if you step out of line, he’ll blind you with his prettiness, and then ban you. His banstick is nearly as long as Daniel’s. Butt and Kenobi are his sidekicks. Prequel Trilogy This is where you discuss the Prequels. How bad they were, how awful the dialogue was, how plastic the acting was, how the special effects ruined everything, etc etc If you want to be nice to them, you can do that here as well… The Index, because PT is scary without it. Also, don’t tease Strilo about liking Pearl Jam. He might get upset Star Wars Community Socialising with a Star Wars theme. At least, that’s the general idea… Also for random what ifs… The Index. Star Wars Saga Do you like discussing Star Wars every day and night, analysing every nanosecond of film, and coming up with slightly deranged theories based on a speck of dust that’s out of place? If so, click on the link above. Index Star Wars and Film Music For music, believe it or not. It was created for Star Wars, but it’s sort of branched off into all film scores and classical, I think. So, no discussing Linkin Park or My Little Chem Rom The Index Lucasfilm Projects/Indiana Jones 4 Willow! American Graffiti! Howard the DUCK! THX-1138, and of course that old forgotten thing no one’s heard of, Indiana Jones or something. Index Beyond The Films: The Expanded Universe – TV, Novels & Comics. Authors and Artists Here, you can talk to famous peoples! Seriously. Authors pop in all the time for a chat. Whether you want to engage in an almighty philosophical debate with Matt Stover and Daniel Keys Moran (who’re always debating), gaze on in (faux-)shock as Abel G. Pena does something crazy again, or wait for Drew Karpyshyn’s plugs and announcements, they’re all here. Quite fun people, to be told The EU Community Waru! Swirlblies! Discuss these amazing characters and races in a variety of fanclubs! And there are the general social threads as well. And a Senate! It doesn’t do much but sit and look pretty, but still, it’s a Senate! The Index Fear Jello. He’s better than everyone, and he doesn’t mind letting everyone know it. His banstick isn’t that big yet, but his ego is twice as big as the solar system, so watch out Literature Sensible discussion of books, comics, essential guides, Jacen, Mara, Anakin, Karrde, and illegitimate children. Mostly… L’index Also, dp4m’s a droid, so he can ban without remorse or hatred. Handy power, that. Literature Review This is the forum where you discuss Lit, review it, and then review others reviews, before reviewing their review of your review of their review, and so on, until it all becomes painfully tedious and you just stop discussing it. (I’m going to continue using this definition until the end of time!) General Intro Thread With An Index Small Screen Star Wars The forum for discussing the Holiday Special, the cartoons, the Clone Wars, the animated movie thing, the live action TV series, and all the other TV related projects over the years. Index Also, if you’re in trouble with Tyi, give him lamingtons. Games Games: Videogames Liek teh_gaming? If so, this forum’s for you. You don’t need level ups in here, for here there be cheats! Sometimes. Or just crazyness. And FORCEBOATS! Ph34r teh FORCEBOAT! Also, learn some 1337. It’ll come in handy. Ze Index Aragorn has godmode turned on. CCG, TCG and Boardgames This is the forum for discussing Decipher’s now-deceased Customisable Card Game, Wizards of the Coast’s Trading Card Game, and all of the SW boardgames, like Monopoly. The Index is very old, so there’s not much point in linking to it. RPG and Miniatures Roll a dice! Level up! Get skillz! Read sourcebooks! d20 and d6 here! And these miniature things. No index. dp4m is mod here too. Role Playing Non-Star Wars Role-Playing Online roleplays! Like roundrobin fanfics, but stranger. This is for non-SW stuff. No Index. Role Playing Resource This is for the info and such related to creating and participating in RPGs. Like GMing, which is probably quite hard. Index Role Playing Forum The SW-based RPGs go in here. They’re pretty much the same as the non-SW roleplays, but with more lightsabers. Again, no index. Fan Fiction Before The Saga The Saga Beyond The Saga Classic Stories If you like writing stories in the Star Wars universe, then post them in the above forums, using the era in which the story takes place. For example, Before the Saga is anything that takes place before Episode 1, The Saga is anything that happens between Episodes 1 and 6, and Beyond is anything that happens after 6. The classic board is for old stories that were awesome. Fanfic Resource This is the board for Fanfic socialising. Lots of guilds and societies for people to join, with whom you can bounce ideas off. Index Fan Activities Fan Audio This is a forum for people who like to talk into microphones and make audio adaptations or projects of their own. Collecting Dust off Boba Fett and talk about the intricacies of collecting things! And why you collect them. And what you want. And what to get rid of. And stuff like that. Index Fan Art For drawing pictures! Of Star Wars characters, mostly, because it’s FanArt, not devArt Index FanFilms For Fans who like to make films about Star Wars. Must Read Thing Of Greater Importance Than Index That Involves So Much Importance That It Is Necessary To Use A Capital Letter At The Beginning Of Each Word Fan Sites This is where you get to advertise your own site, within reason. You can also advertise your site in your signature, but this provides a topic for it and saves you from having to spam up the WNU and JCC saying, “Join my site!” As such, it’s performed rather well. Now the spam is neatly confined into one place. Index Costuming and Props For dressing up. Index Sci-Fi 3D CGI and such, 3D modelling, technical stuff which is completely beyond me. Science Fiction and Fantasy Books and Comics For talking about Sci-Fi and Fantasy books and comics, believe it or not. Quite a nice place. Index Watch out for Nat. She’s scary. Also, GandyRaven is over level 9000, so don’t underestimate him either Films and Television For all the many Sci-Fi films, and the fantasy ones, this forum is full of juicy goodness. And badness, like comic book villains. Index Jedi Council Community The Amphitheatre Art, Books, Music, etc etc, this is the place for in-depth discussion of these things. Quite in-depth. Also has discussion of the various lists that websites and magazines put together. And the JC puts together… Index Your Jedi Council Community This is the main offtopic forum. Therefore, it’s big. And scary. And weird. Obnoxious. Bizarre. Lots of nice people though. Quite funny. The mods are scary. Senny’s back, Pulsies is Australian, and Grant likes the Hoff. A lot. Other than that, it’s quite normal. Index The Senate Makes the JCC looks like a happy party. Which it usually is. This is the forum for all large scale debates, political and religious discussions. So, if you feel like posting a 70000 word treatise on a 10000 word treatise about a 1000000 word treatise on religion, this is probably the place to do it. There will be many “PPOR”’s, “QFT”’s and “tl,dr”’s. Look in the glossary. It’s probably a good idea to read the threads at the top first as well. Make sure you’re certain that any topic you post hasn’t been posted before as well, lest it will end up being locked. Census and Games Voting in random polls, having fun, eating lamingtons, laughing at Tyi’s colours, trying to avoid scary Nat ( ), and generally being fun. Also for Games, like Hogwarts. Watch out for Ravenclaws. They tend to do nothing until the last day, and then steal all your points. Index Sports The Arena For the discussion of sports, and fanclubs of sport clubs. And stuff. (btw, Everton is still looking for fellow supporters). Index Administration Rules and Announcements Just lays out the rules and guidelines of the JC, as well as having a few handy threads about being new, and a nice list of all the mods, though it doesn’t give a list of strengths and weaknesses like I do… Communications If you have a problem, this is where you come for help. If you have a general issue, you can make it known here. However, complaints about mods shouldn’t be posted in here, rather, they should be PMed straight to an admin. Index And there it is. The JC in all it’s entirety. There is also FanForce, which I’m not even going to attempt to index. However, a good bet is to go back to WNU and use this lovely topic which charts all the Fanforces, and has some words of encouragement by members of some of them. (And if you’re from the South of the UK, we could use some active members please… ) So, until next year, goodbye. Keep levelling up, little newbies! 	Good work! But why don't you give FanForce its own chapter? Of course listing all existing FF would be a bit of an overkill, but naming the main parts? 	But if you add all the JC-boards, then FF should be there as well in my view, because it's a huge part of this forum. Of course, it just needs a general describtion, but I think it's worth to add at least the main boards to give an idea and to show that FF is there. It's good that you mentioned FF in your last part, but honestely, I missed it almost, because I looked through the main boards. And it would be sad, if a newbie miss it, just because s/he doesn't read everything. 	[Sorry I missed this, went to studio yesterday and spent the rest of the day in pain ] But, to be honest, most of the time someone (usually you) points out FF in newbies threads anyway. Plus, this map has always just consisted of the JC. I never put FanForce in before, though I do always put in a link to the Open House. If one of the RSA's wants to do a FanForce map, more power to them, but there's no way I'm going to list so many regions when they're all on the main menu anyway. Plus, Fanforce has a united purpose, there's no need for descriptions, so it'd just be a list of links. The main idea behind the map is not only to link, but also to describe what each forum does (like, what's the difference between SWC and The Saga forums?)
