Hey, there, arwen-leia-potter. Welcome to the JC! What do you do next? Well, that depends on what you're after. 
Are you looking for someone to show you around the boards? Check out the newbie adoptions if you're interested in finding someone to help you get acclimated to the forums.
Are you looking to just find some quick friends? Any of the threads around this particular board are good for that. There's the pillow fighting thread, the welcome party, or the random thought of the day thread. Everyone's super nice, so you can find some awesome users really quickly.
Otherwise, there are a lot of boards to check out. Are you interested in fanfiction? Games? The EU? Check out the other boards and just jump right into the conversation! Any of the moderators can help you out if you have questions.
If you need something more general or just would like to chat with someone, feel free to send me a PM. I'll help you out as much as I can.
Have a blast around here, and don't be afraid to ask questions. There's a lot to take in!

Welcome arwen-leia-potter! 
I take it you love LotR, SW and HP, right? Then for a start, I suggest to take a look at SciFi and Fantasy. There you can see an index where almost all topics are listed, including HP and LotR.
And what you should do? Take some time, go through the different boards, read a bit and if you feel like replying to a thread, do it.
