This stinks. I'm sitting here really thinking about it and outside of actually landing without a cute (sky diving).... The only thing I can think of for practical use would be trying to stop an accident I was about to witness. Such as one car on the highway hitting another that might get passengers killed.
Can't believe those are the only things I can come up with. Here I thought I was slightly creative....

If I had the force:
First I would make work in my favor
Rob three banks and make everyone forget what happened. (and the the video recordings also.)
Build and actual working light saber
then make stupid four wheelers leave me alone while I am moving a 80000 lb truck and trailer down the road.
That is for starters.

We wouldn't need television remotes or anything like that.
I would clean my yard up. Force pull the grass down a few inches.
As some one else said, I would construct a working lightsaber.
I know a few people who got their mind cluttered, I would help them to settle their minds.
I would make animals do stupid things. Make dogs walk on two legs and make them talk.
I would control some sporting events, that would be fun.
I would never step in dog pooh again!

Haha, it would be funny to see what would happen if you and that guy were both trying to control the carrier at the same time. It would be so confused!
Aaaaand... I would use the Force to make the elevators in my dorm work again because I live on the NINTH FLOOR. AHHHHHH.
