I'm a newcomer here, directed by a user from another forum, and I thought I'd introduce myself.
As you can see, I am AlphaRay, but you can all call me Ray for short. I enjoy quite a few things, mostly writing and movies. I'm also a pretty big sports fan, baseball and basketball being my favorites.
So! It's good to be here, the place looks enjoyable. Nice to meet you all.

Hello, Ray! Nice to meet you, and welcome to the JC! You've come to the right place to introduce yourself, so welcome to WNU, too. 
You like writing, eh? Do you write fanfiction? We've got quite a few fanfiction freaks hanging around here, and the fanfiction boards here are some of the best on the Web. And are you keeping up with the NBA playoffs? There's a whole sports board here on the JC for us sports fanatics.
If you need help finding something or just have questions, feel free to ask anyone here. We're a little odd, but we're always willing to help out. Come find us in the pillow fight.

Welcome to the JC. As Trika told you, there are places were you can post your fan fiction, a place to talk sports, and great places to just have fun and be insane. See pillow fight and\or random thought thread.

Do you mind, if I ask who your friend is? Is he a regular here as well?
Since you got some good links and advices already, there's not much I can add beside of that you won't get bored at these boards. There's so much to read and to do (games, RPG, etc) that you start wishing the day would have more hours.

Joined here in '05 Ray, and I wished I stayed around the Welcome New users board. Its generally the best place to get familiar with newer and older forum posters before you jump in to things. But if you're familiar with forum posting and just want to leap to places like the fan fiction area, then thats cool. Just make sure to stop by here every now and then, it'll be worth it. So, with that said, welcome to the force.net Ray.
