Hey, someone from Turkey. I actually studied the country two years ago, so I know a fair amount about the country. Nice to see another new user on the boards.

Wow what did you study ??? Sociology or something ?
Most of the people look as an orientalist to Turkey. Or people think we are barbarians. That's a delusion
Turkey is a very modern country. For example , our great leader Kemal Ataturk is a very revolutionist man.

Attaturk, eh? "Father of the Turks" was a great leader. I had to study a country over the entire school year, and I had to learn about all kinds of things. There's a travel guide on a side counter here that I can look at to remind myself of things in the country.

By the way i have an interesting observation :
when i was visiting historical places in istanbul , i see many tourists bu most of them from Japan and they are taking photos all the time !

Sounds like my home city. It's starting to become more diverse, so you see a lot of foreign tourists taking photos.
