Hi, I'm Nya.  I just started to get into the Star Wars universe. My dad passed away about nine years ago and he was into the original trilogy. I'm not like a hardcore fan, I just like the the movies because like scifi and fantasy, basically. Also, it makes me think of my dad.

It's completely fine to be a normal fan of Sci-Fi and Fantasy and so SW as well. Although there are some hard-core fans around, there are even more fans who just like to watch SW, to talk a bit about it and enjoy the daily SW pics (like the banner or icons arounds). Some love only the old trilogy, some love the new trilogy, some just enjoy the books and some enjoy talking about everything but SW. Yep, you read correctly, there are even boards that are about non-SW topics like sport, politics, general discussion.
So I bet you'll find some good places to stay. 
Just don't forget to check out your local FanForce. There you can meet other SW fans from your local area (and maybe even in RL). Those meetings are lots of fun.
Enjoy your stay and don't hesitate to ask, if you need help or have questions.
