Maybe find another sitter for half the time... like some days with your mom, others with the other person / place.

Your mom sounds burned out, and it really isn't fair for you to be annoyed with her. Also, whining about paying her 100 euros isn't very nice... have you seen the average cost of childcare?

Sounds like your mom needs a break. She raised you, and perhaps wants a life of her own, and doesn't want to see her grandchild on a daily basis.

I say just find another part time sitter, and cut your mom's load in half.

You can't know until he tells you or do certain actions (like giving you a rose, spending much time with you, etc).

But does it really matter? Don't you have a crush on another person already? wink

Oh, and happy birthday, Mr. Morrison!

Rew, of course we care where and how you've been. That's why I asked. happy
I hoped you had more good than bad times, but it sounds not that good. I'm sorry to hear this. sad

Well, it was a mixed bag. It was a fun trip, I had a great time, but I also had a terrible string of luck while I was up there too. I was supposed to meet up with five friends in the city, and every last one of them ended up bailing. One day I got stuck at the hotel because my friend I was up there to see was experiencing bad leg pain. Another day I got stranded on Long Island for several hours. Then toward the end of the trip, I got sick (for the first time in nearly two years).

But on the flip side, I got to finally get out of Columbia for once, see some places I either had never seen or hadn't seen in a long time. I got to hang out with a dear friend I hadn't seen in forever. The weather was nice and cool (if a bit rainy at times) in contrast to the steamy South. I got see many relatives, including my nephews who I hadn't seen in a few years, who are growing up fast. I got to see all three of my cousins' kids together for the first time, and I was basically meeting them for the first time. (The oldest one is almost 3.)

Star Tours is just about Star Wars. And you get saved by the Rebels and it's all fun.

Not only have I never been to a Disney park, I've never been to anything SW-related either, not even a convention. tongue

Oh, and hi Serafine. I don't believe I've met you before.

I don't think I've met you either, Rew. So..hi! And other then seeing the movies in theatre and Star Tours I've never been to anything Star Wars either. I live in a rural area and the closest large city is an 8 hour drive away so I don't get to do fun stuff like conventions. cry tongue

EDIT: I will ask; how was your vacation, Rew?

See, I've never even been to Star Tours. tongue

But yes, nice to meet you! *shakes hand* Whereabouts are you from that's so rural?

And thank you for asking about the vacation! Like I was saying to Skiara, it was a mixed bag, but overall a nice diversion, a chance to get away from work and South Carolina. I flew up to Brooklyn to stay with a good friend of mine (except at the last minute she had to put me in a hotel). She took me on a tour of the town, including the Promenade (an outlook on the Hudson River right across from Manhattan, where you can see the entire city, from Statue of Liberty to Brooklyn Bridge) as well as Coney Island, where I'd never been before. Later in the week, I visited my sister and two nephews in Connecticut, and as it turns out, the older one (who's almost 17) will be visiting with us for a few weeks here in S.C.! He hasn't been down here since he was a little kid. After NY and CT, I flew down to Maryland to meet up with a couple friends near Baltimore, and then down to the D.C. area to see my aunts, uncles, and cousins (including one cousin I hadn't seen in nearly 6 years). It was in Maryland that I got sick, so thankfully it was toward the end of the vacation and not the beginning!

Anyway, someone hired a team to help us stack the shelves, right? Well, half the team didn't show up and the other half didn't know what the heck they were doing. So basically, my colleagues and myself (together we're seven people) did a whole lot of work on our own.

We didn't finish everything so Monday will be a very long day as well. We open Thursday and everything's cheaper too. I suppose I won't be home until about eleven in the evening on Thursday. Oh well.

And then my Mom's annoying me. *sighs*
When I first started working again, I had asked her if she'd be willing to babysit because my husband doesn't come home from work until about nine thirty in the morning. Then he has to sleep, obviously.
And she was okay with it. I mean, I'm paying her 100 Euros to babysit her grandchild. plain
Yeah, no comment on that.

Anyway, now she starts whining that she has to get up so early because I have to be at work by seven in the morning. I cleared it up with my boss that I'd be able to ome around eight. And yet she still whines.
Is it just me or is that just wrong?

It's a not needed stress factor, it really is. *sighs*

HI CEILLEAN! I figure since we're Master/Padawan, we should probably talk to each other more. tongue

Damn, that sounds like a sucky situation. sad

Yeah, I would tend to agree with harps on your mom probably feeling burned out and maybe wanting a life of her own. However, you're actually paying her to babysit her own grandchild. That's almost unheard of. For that reason alone, she "loses" the right to complain, IMO. Still, just sounds like a hard situation for you, her, and your husband with all those weird hours.

Sucks about the worker team who had no idea what they were doing, but seeing as how I so frequently have no idea what I'm doing either, I can't really talk. tongue

Regardless, I hope things improve for you. How old is your child?

We should talk more, huh? I suck as being Master. tongue

Anyway, my daughter is two years old. Yeah, she can be a handfull which comes with the age.
But I don't work everyday. It's a part time job. My Mom comes to babysit maybe three times a week and not for long.
Plus, I'm paying her. In my oppinion, she has nothing to whine about.

The only thing that bothers her is having to get up so early in the morning.

And this isn't an every day thing either. Sometimes I work the evening shift, then she doesn't babysit anyway.

I really don't understand and she's making it quite difficult.

Of course I'd find another sitter if I'd work every day. But I'm careful when it comes to strangers watching my daughter.
I don't trust anyone with her.

You wouldn't even trust her with me? batting

But yes, I agree that she has no right to complain when you're paying her to babysit her own granddaughter. My aunt and uncle are grandparents now, and they absolutely relish making the short trip to a nearby town to see two of their grandchildren on a regular basis.

Also, you're not a bad Master! talk_hand

Oh, I highly recommend it! Great beaches out this way. I recommend visiting the Northeast (like New York and New England) in the summer when it's nice and cool. Then visit the Southeast (like the Carolinas and Florida) in the winter when it's still relatively warm.
peace

So your last crush is over already, SWrules? confused

That's really a trip with lots of ups and downs and definitely a trip you can tell stories about, Rew. wink
I also would like to visit the USA once in my life, but it's too expensive at the moment and I don't have enough free days, so it has to wait.
