Hopefully, the reboot attracts more attention. Thanks Ktala. happy

Okay... here's another newbie question:
Does the GM intervene if nobody posts for a certain amount of time?
I'm guessing the story gets pushed along for those who are still participating.

Also, I'd like to thank all the wonderful tutors out there... you know who you are! cool

And I'm sure all of the other newbies agree... you guys have created such a pleasant learning environment.

Thanks again!

Hello there Baskerville. happy

Welcome fellow newbie. Thanks for the greeting!

It's great to see you at the WNU RPG. I think it has a lot of potential, and hopefully we can have a blast RPing together.

Your character, Zykal Arahiziim, seems like an interesting fellow. A Gand off of his home planet is rare. That species is quite fascinating.

Thank you again.

Zykal turns and bows reverentially to Epithree. He says, "This Gand is honored to be here."

OOC:

Regarding the Mini-RPG, just wondering whether there's such things as posting order.

For example, if for example, Feugo tags Imperial_Hammer, and the person has yet to reply, is it possible for others to post or do we all have to wait for the person tagged to respond?

Also, if I tag someone, how long do I actually wait for a reply? Will the story just continue? Also, if it continues, it seems weird to leave things hanging in the balance...

Hope to get some enlightening!

Thanks happy

Those are good questions. I was wondering about posting order as well. Is it okay to PM someone with a reminder if they've forgotten to post?

Oh! Another question:

It's about using one character for multiple games... if a player wants to, can he/she reuse a character?

Well, I guess enlightening is better than just lighting... grin

And the answer to your question is, if the person is NOT directly impacting the actions of your character, no you do NOT have to wait for the other person to post. You can post in order to move the story along.

Also, RPG are hard to judge. Especially lately. Not everyone gets online every day. So, some are willing to give it a few days..usually no longer than a week, unless the other players post and say that they are having trouble. The flow of the game DEPENDS on the players that are able to post.

Most RPG's have an turn around of a couple of weeks..UNLESS a GM posted at the beginning of the game, that they wanted a fast paced game. But in truth, it really depends on the players.

Hope that helps.

Hi everyone!

I'd like a mentor if possible so I can bombard him/her with questions about writing RPG.

Thanks!

Ah Epithree ... I think you'll find that the RPF is rather lax when it comes to a lot of things. tongue You can pretty much do whatever you want unless it's expressively forbidden in the rules, or stated as frowned upon in a guide (and even if it's frowned upon, a guide is a guide, and you won't be smacked down for not following it). And of course, if your GM says you can't, you can't - each GM has discretion to run their game however they like.

So with regards to your question, you certainly can! A lot of people do it, although I personally think it might get confusing as not all games will incorporate the same amount of canon/fanon.

Don't worry about it too much. At the end of the day RPing is something you learn best by doing, so just join some games and try it out.
