Two things;
Mac you suck! All this time you carry this attitude "Oh Apple is sooooo much better then PC, we run all our own stuff and will never have it any other way". That is till the latest Intel proc comes out and all of a sudden its a different story.
And for my main biotch, MSI. Last week the fan on my 6600 GT gave it up. So unable to find my receipt, I therefore didnt have a record of buying the card and thus couldnt get a new fan on waranty. So much for the "Possession is 9-10th of the law" thing. Realising even if I did have my receipt, the store wouldnt be able to replace my card straight away because they dont stock AGP anymore.
To cut a boring story short, Im annoyed the fan only lasted 6-8 months before something died, and having to buy another VGA cooler. I bought a thermaltake Giant 2 heatsink and fan, Im not sure that works and the fact my card now looks like a Cylon from Battlestar Galatica.
And I really wish retailers would let you take stuff outta the box and see if it fits your system/component, instead of the typical "You bought it, youre stuck with it" attitude some have.

With most shops, proof of purchase is required. Since most PC hardware is under a hardware warranty for 1 year, its always best to keep the receipt. However, there are some alternatives. PLE can dig up your payment, if you can tell them when you purchased it (if you paid by card). And the 2nd way is, that they only need proof of purchase you could ask if they'd accept a bank statement. As it will show when and how much you paid for the item (just probably wont say the item name). That might work?
