It's here! It's Russian! It's subtitled! Empire magazine loves it!
Anyone seen it yet? What's the word?

Haven't seen it yet, but damn do I want to!! I saw the trailer many months ago and I've been waiting for it every since. Did some research too.
It's a 2004 movie, so we're behind a year. Supposedly part of a trilogy (the second movie is in the works and/or about to be released as far as I know) based upon a series of novels.
Hmm, maybe this could be the subject of an upcoming gathering? anyone game?

Bascially, it's a Russian movie that's just been released. A sci-fi movie that a) proves that a high budget makes a good movie, not and b) should not be compared to the matrix despite similar elements (very, very small I might add).

Hmmm...reminds me of Van Helsing.
Another poor movie trying to find an excuse to show off their VFX, which are not even that good

Thought it was damn fantastic!!! Freaky Russian crap and can't wait for parts 2 and 3. (2006 and 2007 respectively).
I loved the ending how it all came together....wicked stuff.

If ever there's a movie that deserves to be awarded 'best subtitles', this is the one

Agreed....it was like they actually cared about the sub-titles in this film. Very well done.
