I'd much rather have him alive, myself.
I meant I was a Stover Zombie hence the failed attempt at an emoticon
It'll probably be a few years before FFG gets to making a RPG, they'll be concentrating on other SW games (card games, board games) first. We'll see what happens.
Abel is sorely missed, though...
Howdy, my friends. Ms. Coffee directed me to this post.
Has it been so long? Reading this felt like you guys are Obi-Wan, and I'm the Old Republic! But in reality, it hasn’t been quite so long since I stopped by the TFN forums: it’s only been a year since the “General Grievous: Warlord by Abel G. Peña” April Fool’s prank someone—SuperBattleDroid?—pulled, much to my mirth. Likewise, it’s only been about three and a half years since the Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide was published, which I co-authored.
Granted, I should like my Star Wars work to be published more frequently than that.
Believe it or not, I have been working on Star Wars these last few years. But one project was an update of "Vader’s Legacy," which, unfortunately, was permanently cancelled. And the other, I can’t say much about, except that I worked on it long and hard, I’ve been paid for it, and hope to see it published soon.
Thank you everyone for the expressions of confidence and outpouring of support. Please, personally voice these feelings on the official Star Wars Books page on Facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/starwarsbooks. Or in the post relating to this specific thread, here: http://www.facebook.com/starwarsbooks/posts/275715229179011.
Far be it for me *not* to shill for myself. But one man can do only so much ... and your voice as fans carries far.
Good news to hear: looking forward to seeing what it is. A pity about Vader's Legacy, though.
More then a couple of months is too long.
Yeah, Abel, if you could just liquefy yourself and hook it up with an IV, that'd be great.
I KNEW IT. You're writing "The Whacky Adventures of Ars Dangor and Ederlathh Pallopides, with an interlude at Alec Pradeux's Spira Beach House," aren't you? Or is it the long delayed "A Coruscant Daily Newsfeed Exclusive: The Correspondance between HIM the Galactic Emperor and Waru -- A Friendship that Transcends Universes."
What is up with your fetish over Ederlathh Pallopides? Everyone knows that Palpatine's heir has three eyes, as only then can they achieve perfection.
Trioculus was always a bit too shocking for my taste.
I'd like for my work to be published, period, but first I need to get hired.
Anywho, got anything on the chopping block, other than your aforementioned secret project that you've been paid for? Willing to lend your talents to some small, annoying little bits of the GFFA that could use a hashing out? Like, how one crams 90+ Rebels into the 15-meter-long (with 12 meters of usable interior space) Mist Hunter and will Zuckuss ever be let out of the psych ward?
Good to have you around, Abel.
And agh, I can't help it. The Ñ is in.
Hooray! Now throw in the "G." You know you want to. You have the power to make it so.
The "G." is optional. The "Ñ" is not.
Put some clothes on!
Only a beach house? Pfft. Pradeux is a loser if he doesn't have a sky house.
First of all, a big thank you to the many folks who have stopped by the Star Wars Books page to voice his and her support for my work and to Dr. Steve Brule for starting this thread. This is not just touching, but in an often jaded Internet age, your straightforward, and sometimes very eloquent, entreaties make a strong and concrete statement about what the loyal fanbase wants. Your numerous “likes” and comments each represent dozens more voices, and if you feel moved by the Force, I encourage you to voice that feeling personally yet.
Here's the party: http://tinyurl.com/6nrwbad
It remains my commitment (and honor), in reciprocation, to appreciate the SWlit fandom and continue writing the hell out of a galaxy far, far away.
Now, forgive me while I try to figure out the quoting system on these new boards....
It’s not so bad, Loyal Imperial. I’ve recycled bits of Vader’s Legacy into other projects for years: the Noghri Death Commandos in Echoes of the Jedi, Hethrir and Kharys in Aliens in the Empire before that. It may live yet, albeit in different form(s).
It don’t work, Coop ... if the hubris of Grievous re:Sifo-Dyas is a reliable indicator.
My loyalties to the Waru are well known....
But didn’t you know, GAJ? Miss Pallopides was to be sacrificed to the Great Blob. Why do you think we’ve heard nothing more from her?
I think we be confuzzling idioms here. Vader's Legacy wound up on the the chopping block. Meanwhile, I'm working to keep other projects that I have declared (much like exiting presidential candidates' campaigns) “suspended,” off the chopping block. These include the remnants of Aliens in the Empire III, as well as some less obscure projects. Alas, that's as much as I’m empowered to say.
Wait for it … “Very carefully.”
As for Zuckuss, I’d like to know as well. That’s a story ripe with potential, very much waiting to be told. Probably not by me, though. It's all yours, Trak.
Join the Schwarz … you’re a wonderful human being.
