Admiral Ozzel. Something special about the way Vader chokes him remotely during a video conference call, haha. I also like how Vader addresses Piett as Captain first, then as Admiral after Ozzel dies and Piett gets promoted.
THIS. *** Ozzel's demise is made by Vader's comments prior to the long-distance choke. Clumsy-stupid is one of my fav's of all time.
Needa. I know the EU went a different route, but in the movie he seemed like an honorable officer who didn't deserve what he got.
What did the EU do to Needa? His death always sickened me. He got killed for being honest about the fact that he was foiled by Han. Ozzel's death was creepy in a different way, being killed for incompetence with his subordinates watching. Plus Vader being able to choke through the holo--apparently that was news to those officers, given the "WTF?" looks on their faces.
Right now, I'm imagining Anakin circa ROTS sitting there Force choking Ozzel. It's a creepy thought, but definitely applicable. GL and Hayden nailed that character! On topic, I think that nothing beats "Apology accepted, Captain Needa" in this movie! ...but it wouldn't be the same without Ozzel's death preceding it. Needa is to Ozzel what TESB is to ANH. Apologies need acceptance /LM
I think Needa is the best. He knew that someone was going to die and gave his life to spare someone else's. In my book that makes him not only a great man but willing to die instead of blaming others.
Dack's death always stuck out to me because I remember seeing ESB for the first time (I was 7 or 8) and feeling sick to my stomach once he got shot. I was like "Yeah! Luke and Dack are going to take that AT-AT down!.......oh, never-mind".
